Scott's classes seem to pass by very slowly for the blonde. He was looking forward to his meeting with Mitch, even though it would stay fairly professional. He was also in a much better mood than he had been last week. His students seemed to notice but no one said anything about Scott's change of attitude.

"Ok, you guys can go to lunch." Scott says after looking at his watch. His students stand up and start exiting the classroom. Scott has just reached his desk and sat down when someone enters the room.

"Hey." Mitch says. Scott smiles at the brunette in front of him.

"Hey." Scott says back. He opens the mini fridge behind him and pulls the sandwich he hurriedly made this morning out. "So, i'd like to start with Blake's current grades."

Mitch nods and pulls a chair in front of Scott's desk. Once he's sitting down Scott continues.

"The only class Blake isn't failing is gym." Scott says. "And he has a D in that. I don't know about his other teachers but i'd be happy to give him several extra credit opportunities. I really don't want him to have to repeat this year."

"Ok." Mitch sighs. It was worse than he thought. "I'll make sure Blake completes whatever you send him hime with, or I'll make sure Zoey is watching him. I'm just not at home as much as I'd like to be."

"I totally understand." Scott nods. "A lot of parents struggle with managing their hours to fit with kids. Hell, sometimes I struggle and I have the same hours Asher does!"

"Yeah, being a single parents can be hard." Mitch says. He's quick to apologize when he senses Scott's change of mood. "Sorry! I don't even know if you're single."

"I am." Scott sighs. He starts rubbing the spot his ring used to be without thinking about it. "I uh... I got divorced a couple days ago. I'm still getting used to it."

"Scott, i'm so sorry." Mitch says. Scott can tell that he really means it. Most people Scott had already told didn't actually care, he could just tell. "If there's anything I can do for you don't hesitate to ask me."

"Thanks, Mitch." Scott says. "That really means a lot. I think I'll be fine though. The worst part is watching Asher be so sad all the time."

"Yeah, that part sucks." Mitch says. "It will get worse before it gets better. Just don't forget that it does get better, Scott."

"Wait, have you ever been divorced?" Scott asks.

"Well, not really." Mitch sighs. "We never got an official divorce. My kids dad just kind of left one day."

"Mitch, I am so sorry."

That had to be ten times worse than what Scott was going through. Because Kayla would still be there for Asher at the end of the day. Scott just didn't get to be with her. He can't imagine having to raise Asher with no support at all though.

"It's fine, Scott." Mitch says with a small smile. "It was a while ago. I'm as over it as i'll ever be."

Scott nods just as the bell rings. When he had someone to talk to lunch just flew by. Scott really wishes he could spend more time talking to Mitch. It was refreshing to have someone to talk to that understood what he was feeling.

"Wait." Scott says, stopping Mitch from leaving. He grabs a folder and hands it over to Mitch. "This is the extra credit assignments Blake can do for my class."

"Thanks you, Scott. I have something I want to give you too." Mitch says. He writes something on a peice of paper and then hands it to Scott. "Bye, Scott."

"Bye, Mitch." Scott says. He watches Mitch leave and then smiles to himself. Scott then finally looks at the paper Mitch gave him. It's a phone number.
