The first day of having Blake Grassi in his class went oddly smoothly. Blake didn't do any work but he also didn't cause any trouble. Scott didn't know why he had been transferred to his class but so far it wasn't terrible. Right now he couldn't worry about it, right now he had to inform a bunch of drama nerds if they had gotten the part they wanted.

"Ok, so here's the moment you've all been waiting for." Scott says, getting everyones attention. "I'm going to tape up this list to the door. Be civil and if you hurt anyone you don't get your part!"

Scott hangs the list on the door and then steps back. Luckily Scott doesn't have to break up any fights. Once everyone knows their parts Scott dismisses the class. Zoey is the last one to be in the room and Blake is next to her.

"I got the lead!" Zoey says happily.

"I told you that you would didn't I?" Scott chuckles. He loved seeing his students get excited. Scott starts packing up but stops to look up when Zoey talks again.

"Mr. Hoying, is it ok if we stay here until our dad arrives?" Zoey asks. "It's raining and my dad's making me keep this imbecile in my line of sight."

"Yeah, that's fine." Scott says after glancing at his watch. "You'll have to follow me for a second though. I have to pick my son up from his teacher's room and I can't leave students unsupervised.."

"Ok." Zoey nods. "Come on, Blake. It's not my fault that dad's making you follow me around."

Scott shakes his head and starts leaving his room. Zoey and Blake follow behind him and they walk down the halls in silence. It doesn't take them long to reach the second grade wing. Scott enters the room and smiles when he sees his son.

"Thanks for watching him, Tori." Scott smiles. "It means a lot. I'll buy you coffee tomorrow. Come on, Asher."

"Bye, Mrs. Kelly!" Asher says jumping to his feet.

"Bye, Ash." Tori smiles. "Don't forget to do your homework this time! Cause I know for a fact you don't have a dog."

"Ash, did you say that your dog ate your homework?" Scott says trying to keep a straight face.

"Sorry, daddy." Asher mumbles.

"It's fine, Ash. Just don't do it again." Scott smiles. "Ok, we're going to stay a little late. We're waiting for their dad to pick them up."

"Ok." the little boy says happily. He grabs his dad's hand and then follows him to Scott's classroom.

"I think you have some toys in my closet." Scott says to his son. Asher nods and runs off towards the back of the room. "Blake, while I have you here i'd actually like to talk about something with you."

"If it's about my grades I already know." He sighs. "My dad already grilled me about it this morning."

"Ok, good." Scott nods. "I'd love to discuss extra credit opportunities with you and your dad actually."

"I'll tell our dad about it." Zoey says. "If I don't Blake never will."

"Thanks, Zoey." Scott smiles. Before Scott can say anything else a man bursts into Scott's room. The brunette looks a lot like both Zoey and Blake. Scott can already tell that this has to be their dad.

Mr. Grassi is a shorter man with short brown hair and golden brown eyes. He had a septum piercing and his ears are pierced. He was also wearing a pair of navy blue scrubs.

"Sorry i'm late." Mr. Grassi says. "Work got busy, car crash. I'm Mitch by the way. Thanks for watching my kids."

"It's really not problem at all." Scott smiles. "And I'm Scott, Scott Hoying."

"Oh, you're the teacher Zoey keeps raving about!" Mitch says. "Well, we better get going. The hospital will want me back soon."

"Yeah, we're needing to head out as well." Scott says. "Asher, come over here. It's time to go home."

"Yay!" the little boy yells. Mitch can't help but look at the cute little boy. He missed it when his kids were babies.

"How about we walk you out?" Scott suggests. "It's great to finally meet you. Zoey is an excellent student."

"Thank you." Mitch smiles. "I'd love it if you walked me out."

"Great, come on Ash."

"Is this your son?" Mitch asks. Asher smiles up at him before grabbing his dad's hand.

"Yeah, this is Asher." Scott smiles. They've all started walking towards the parking lot by now. "He's seven and in second grade."

"Seven's a good age." Mitch nods. "Well, it was nice meeting you Scott."

"You too." Scott says. They had somehow already reached Mitch's car.

"Oh, I do want to schedule a meeting with you if that's possible." Mitch says. "I want to discuss Blake's grades. I was told you were his new English teacher."

"That would be correct." Scott smiles. "Yeah, i'd love to schedule a meeting sometime. Bye, Mitch."

"Bye, Scott."
