"Scott, stop pacing." Mitch says. "The lawyer will be here soon."
"I don't have time for this, Mitch." Scott says, running a hand through his hair again. "I need to figure out how to win this."
"We will, Scotty." Mitch says. He grabs Scott's hand, forcing him to stand still. "You just need to relax a little bit."
"I know." Scott says, taking a deep breath in. "I just can't believe that Kayla is doing this. I'm a damn good father, how could she do any better than me?"
"I know you're a good father." Mitch sighs. He stands up from his kitchen chair and looks at scott. They were currently at Mitch's house. Asher was with Kirstie and Mitch's kids were with friends. "We just have to get the judge to see that."
Before Scott can worry more there's a knock at the door. Mitch smiles and walks to his front door. Scott can here another voice and soon Mitch and another man enter the kitchen.
"Scott, this is my best friend and the best lawyer I know, Kevin." Mitch smiles. "Kevin, this is my boyfriend, Scott."
"It's nice to meet you." Kevin says, extend-ing his hand for Scott to shake. Kevin was a little shorter than Scott and had dark skin and a warm smile.
"You too." Scott says.
"I wish we could be meeting on different circumstances." Kevin says. "Well, should we get started? Your ex wife probably already has her whole case set up, an advantage of bringing someone to court."
"Yeah." Scott says. "The sooner the better, right?"
"Right." Kevin smiles. "How about we go sit down and we can start working on the case?"
"Let's do this in the living room." Mitch suggests. All three men sit down in the living room and Kevin starts reviewing the case with Scott and Mitch. It turns out that Kevin had already figured out the best plan for winning the case. It didn't take that long for them to be done. "Why don't you you stay for dinner, Kevo?"
"That sounds wonderful."
"How about I help you in the kitchen?" Scott suggests. He needed something to distract himself from the looming case, it was only getting closer.
"Ok." Mitch says, a smile playing on his lips. "Kevin, just make yourself at home. Dinner should be ready in no more than thirty minutes."
Kevin nods and the couple heads to Mitch's kitchen. Mitch starts pulling out different things from the fridge. It doesn't take him long to start cooking chicken breasts in a large skillet.
"Stop over thinking things, Scott." Mitch says, glancing at him.
"I can't." he sighs, messing his hair up more by running another hand through it. "I really want to, Mitch, but i'm just so scared that I'll lose Asher."
"Scott." Mitch says, turing around and taking Scott's hands in his. "Kevin's good at his job and so are you. The judge would have to be insane to give Asher to Kayla."
"I know, I know." Scott says, meeting the comforting gaze of Mitch's brown eyes.
"Just try to relax for at least tonight, babe." Mitch says. "We'll have a nice dinner and then we can watch a movie. How about you spend the night? You shouldn't be alone right now."
"Yeah, that sounds nice." Scott says. "Thanks, Mitchie. I don't know what I would do without you."
Mitch smiles and goes back to cooking dinner, not wanting to burn the chicken. Scott watches his boyfriend cook and tries to relax. No matter what happened Scott knew that Mitch would be by his side. For the moment that was enough to make it where Scott could stop pacing.

Sorry, I know that this chapter wasn't very good. There should be some fun drama soon though!
