Scott was sprawled out on the sofa when Asher came into the room. He was still using his crutches and the initial excitement of it was wearing off. Asher had now realised that he really hated being on crutches.

"You ok, buddy?" Scott asks, looking up from his phone.

"I'm bored." Asher sighs. Scott gives his son a small smile before getting an idea.

"How about we go over to aunt Kirstie's house?" Scott suggests. "I bet Alexa would love to play with you."

Scott had met Kirstin Maldonado in high school. They had both gone to a small school in Arlington, Texas and had parted ways for college. Luckily Kirstie had ended up moving to LA later. She now had a husband and two kids of her own, a seven year old girl named Alexa and a two year old girl named Taylor.

Asher often had play dates with Alexa while Scott would babysit. She always let Scott come over without an invitation and the same went for Scott himself. Scott makes sure to call Kirstie first though, he doesn't want to interrupt anything.

She happily agrees and soon Scott is heading over to her house. He hadn't been able to see Kirstie in awhile and Scott was looking forward to catching up. Scott pulls into her driveway and his eyes widen. Kirstie was next door neighbours with Mitch.

Their house was litterly right next door. Scott has no idea how he had never noticed before. He must have always just been too nervous. Scott shakes away his thoughts and helps Asher out of the car, being careful to not touch his broken leg.

Scott was still pissed that Kayla would let something like that happen. The only reason Scott hadn't lost it yet was becuase Asher seemed to be fine. He had just been trying to avoid Kayla at all costs. Scott hadn't returned any of her countless calls or messages. He had nothing he wanted to say to her.

"Hey, dip dot." Kirstie says, using Scott's childhood nickname.

"Hey, Kirst." Scott smiles. "Thanks for letting us come over. Asher was getting a bit bored cooped up at home."

"You're always welcome at my house, Scott." she smiles. Kirstie was a short woman, with dark hair, and gorgeous green eyes.

"Asher, why don't you go find Alexa?" Scott suggests.

"She's in her room." Kirstie says. Once Asher has disappearing into Alexa's room Scott and Kirstie move to sit in the living room. "How are you doing?"

"I doing good, actually." Scott says. "I... I uh met someone."

"That's great, Scott!" Kirstie exclaims. "So, when's the wedding?"

"We're not quiet there yet." Scott chuckles. "We're not even boyfriend's yet."

"How many dates have you guys been on?" Kirstie asks. She had always been supportive of anything or anyone Scott liked. If he liked someone she would be as supportive as possible. Especially since Scott hadn't dated in such a long time.

"Two official dates, but he's come over a couple times." Scott says.

"You should ask him to be your boyfriend soon." Kirstie says. "I like seeing you happy."

"Kirst, I don't know if i'm ready." Scott sighs. "I just got divorced. I think i'm just going to take things slow."

"Whatever you say, Scotty." Kirstie shrugs. "It's just I wanted Jeremy to ask me to be his girlfriend after our first date. I doubt they'll want to wait too long."

"I know." Scott says. "I'll ask them as soon as i'm ready."

"When will that be?"

"I have no clue." Scott sighs. "You'll be the second person I tell though."

"Who's the first?"

"The guy I actually might want to be with." Scott says. "I think he might want to know a little bit more than you."

"Ok, just know I'll always have your back." Kirstie says. "If you need a wing girl, I've got you covered."

"Thanks, Kirst." Scott smiles. He hugs his best friend and leans back agaisnt the couch. "Enough about me, what's new with you?"
