I sat with my friends to eat lunch, feeling very distracted by the boy who refused to give me his name.
"Hey, Luka. Where'd ya run off to? Talking to Yukio or something?" asked Sora.
"No..." I said with little enthusiasm.
I wish I was talking to Yukio. All I seem to be able to talk about with him is school work. There comes a time when a girl starts to crave a little more conversation than that.
"What happened then?" asked Mai.
"I was trying to find out that blue-haired kid's name. Didn't go so well............." I told them.
"Haha! You actually tried talking to the guy? Seriously?! Wow, you're dumb. Guys would never talk to you, Luka. It's best to keep your distance. It's his choice to be a loner so leave him be. He might prefer it that way," Sora told me.
"But... What if he really does want people to talk to him and is just waiting for the right person to trust?" I suggested.
"So now you're interested in dedicating your attention to this guy? What about Yukio? He'll be devastated to find out," Mai teased.
"I don't like this guy! I just think maybe he could use a friend, you know? No one deserves to live alone in the world like that. That's just cruel. Besides, I'm curious about why he's so disconnected... I want to get to know him," I explained.
"Sounds stupid but ok. So how do you plan on getting to know someone who won't even give you his name?" Sora chuckled with a clear tone of amusement to my proposal.
"Mai thinks she could do it," Mai mentioned.
"Really?" I asked in excitement.
"Indeed. You got Yukio's name after a few painful months so give it a year or so and I think he'll give in. Next step is the number. Although, Mai's estimate for how long that will take is almost infinite," Mai mocked.
"Excuse me! I have his number! I got it from his friend in our old school so I could ask about homework and I'm sure he's saved it! ........ probably," I told them.
"Oh, you've got no chance, my friend. You're never getting a boyfriend. You know that, right?" Sora smirked.
"No thanks to you reminding me a million times a day..." I grumbled.
"Why don't you just turn to the other side already, Luka? I could treat you much better then Yukio~" Sora grinned.
"For the last time, I'm straight!!" I hissed.
"So is spaghetti until you get it wet," Sora giggled.
"She's right, you know?" Mai agreed.
"Why do I socialize with you people...?!" I asked myself with a groan.
"Because we're the only ones you can come to for advice!" cheered Sora.
"What advice have you guys ever given me that has genuinely helped me?!" I ordered to know.
"Errr... That boys are fragile!" Sora cheered once more.
"Ugh," I sighed.
"I'm gonna go find Yukio. Unlike you guys, he actually cares!" I went on.
"No, he doesn't," both Sora and Mai called after me with little confidence.
I shuck my head in frustration and ran outside in hope to find Yukio.
I eventually found him outside on the playground. His friends were nearby but he stood alone. This is a perfect opportunity!
"Hey," I greeted him.
