"How did you know... I had that with me?" I asked.
He probably thinks I was planning on hurting myself with it. I wasn't... I just... I wanted to be prepared if something bad happened again...
"To defend; not to harm. Correct?" Kyo asked.
I swear this guy can read my mind...
"Yeah-"
"Well that's going to have to change," Kyo told me.
"Wh-what...?!" I gasped.
...
Night had fallen. I made my way home after catching a bus back to the village. Mom and dad weren't home... still...
"Hey, Luka!" Sora greeted me as I got in the house.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked.
"Your parents wanted me to check up on you," Sora's purpled haired mother explained with a smile.
"Sleepover!!!" Sora cheered.
"Right.... very well," I mumbled, slipping my bag off and hanging it in the closet.
"I'll leave you guys to it. Let me know if you need anything, K?"
"Wait, Galaxy. How much longer will my parents be gone for?" I asked.
"Just a few more days, Luka. You're being very patient. Keep it up, ok?" Galaxy confirmed.
I sighed as Sora and I went upstairs.
"So, what's wrong?" Sora asked.
"Huh? Oh. It's nothing. I'm sorry. I just... I'm missing my parents. It's been a few weeks. They've never taken this long to complete a job before," I mumbled.
"Aww, don't worry, lickle Lukey. They'll be home soon, I'm sure!" Sora cheered as she launched herself onto my bed.
"I hope so..." I mumbled.
"So, wanna play?" Sora asked, giving me a smirk.
"Play...?!" I shivered.
"Hehe!" Sora giggled, pulling me to the bed.
"Agh- Hahaha- s-stop it!!! Hahaha!!! Sora!! C-cut it ou-ou-out! Haha!" I laughed as Sora pinned me down and started tickling me.
"You're smiling!" She teased, poking my cheeks.
This went on for a while. Eventually, Sora fell asleep and somehow, I managed to escape her. Passing the clock that read 23:45, I crept out of the room.
Flashback...
"The bridge? A-are you sure about this?" I mumbled.
"Of course. Just get his attention and you'll soon see what you mean in his eyes. It should convince you that you have the ability to change him, Luka. You will believe my words after tonight as long as you do as I say, understand?" Kyo explained.
"And... if things go wrong...? What happens then?" I asked him.
"Then there is simply no hope left for Infinity..." Kyo finished...
I walked steadily with my hands tightly gripping the small bag I'd brought with me. The night sky wasn't as beautiful as yesterday. It was cloudy. I expect rain to fall any minute now. I should have brought a coat... I was only dressed in a hoody and trousers.
I finally reached a bridge. I looked under to see a fast flowing river. This was where Infinity had shot a bullet to his head and met the water with a crash. He didn't succeed in meeting death though. Even if he wanted to... I couldn't let him. So how will it play out now? I don't want to meet death. But does Infinity care enough to stop me?
