How can someone go about a life with no one knowing their name or anything about them? I don't get it. What's he hiding and why?
Grr. I'm finding out what his name is at the very least! But how...? If the school doesn't know then I'll have to get him to tell me. What's so important about a name anyway? He really doesn't want anyone to find him, does he...?
Thoughts ran through my mind as I made my way back home. The boy with blue hair had run off before I could catch up to him. I wonder where he goes off to after school. Does he live around here?
BANG!!
Just then my thoughts were interrupted by a gunshot. My whole body jumped in fear, the alerting feeling that someone's life could have just ended ran through my body in sharp pains.
"U-uh...!! Wh-what was that?! Did a gun just fire?! I thought this was a safe neighbourhood," I muttered as I turned my head around, determining where the sound had come from.
Without hesitation, I quickly ran to where I heard the noise. I had to find out what had just happened!
I found myself in an isolated part of the village. It seemed kinda shady. I couldn't help notice that no one was around. But I spoke too soon...
Without another second, I darted around the corner of the street to charge into someone.
"Ugh. Wait... you again!" I yelled, realising the person in front of me was the boy who I'd spoken with not long ago.
"You really don't give up, do you? Were you following me?" asked the boy as I got up.
"No! I wasn't! I swear! I heard a gunshot!"
His eyes widened.
"You... heard it?" he seemed... confused.
"Yeah! It was coming from around here. Do you know what happened?" I asked frantically.
"No!" he told me in a loud tone.
"But you just have heard it too, right?" I asked.
"Regardless, I don't go running to a clearly dangerous scene, unlike you. Therefore, I don't know - nor want to know - what happened. I suggest you adjust a similar attitude," he told me.
I suddenly noticed he was holding his jacket around himself rather desperately...
My eyes lowered to my hands to see stains of red painted on them.
I gasped and instantly pulled open his jacket to show a shirt dripping in the same shade.
"You were shot?!" I yelled in horror.
"Leave me alone," he ordered as he pushed me aside.
"N-no! You need to get to a hospital! What happened?!" I demanded to know as I turned to yell at the boy.
"I'll be fine. Stop worrying about me and start worrying about yourself. You have no good reason to want to know me so don't get involved," he told me.
"But-" I interrupted.
"And don't ever mention this to anyone or you will be sorry!" he warned me with a fire in his ghostly eyes.
He ran off once again, leaving small trails of his own blood across the pavement.
I rushed around the corner after him only to find he'd vanished from the path.
"H-how did he...?" I mumbled.
The trail of blood stopped just a few steps ahead of me and then... nothing. Gone. Like he really had just disappeared without a trace.
