"It's about time you got here. I hope you don't mind but I took deliberately of ordering some milkshakes and small cakes. Apparently, they're the best in town," Kyo told me, greeting me from a table by the window of the cafe I'd agreed to meet him in.
"Yeah, every cafe says that," I said in reply, sitting down next to him.
"Well, it's a way to promote business, yes? So what do you want to talk about? I should probably let you know now that I can't reveal everything you may want to know. Some reasoning behind that is because I simply don't know. Other reasoning says I'd really have to kill you otherwise," he went on.
"Why are you risking telling me in the first place then? What can you do to prove to me that you won't kill me?" I told him.
"Kill? That's a bit far-fetched, don't you think?"
"You literally just told me that's what you'd do!!!" I interrupted.
"Why, you can trust that I won't kill you. Why would I? You're the only chance I've got to find some emotion in that Infinity. And once I've found it... I can expose it!" Kyo smirked deviously.
"What do you mean by that?!" I questioned with concern.
"Nothing much. Anyway, what is it exactly you want me to tell you in this little get together of ours?" asked Kyo.
"We can pick up where we left off. You were telling me about getting close to Infinity and you mentioned that he'd killed people before... is that really true?" I asked.
"Yes. Mercilessly. But it wasn't exactly without reason. He used to kill people because it was simply ordered for the better. However, he would also kill people who tried to get close to him-"
"Wait! What?! But you said he wouldn't kill me! If I get close, would he?" I asked in panic.
"Calm down, Miss Rose. What I told you was the truth. He won't kill you. I assure you.... well, I assure you that he won't intentionally, at least," Kyo told me.
"Well, that sounds reassuring..." I asked.
"Relax. That was all in the past. He's stopped his work now for the exact reason of finding displeasure in the killing. Or so I assume. I honestly can't see why he displeases it so much nowadays. It used to be such fun working with him~" Kyo told me.
"What exactly is this work then? Did you and Infinity work together? And why were you ordered to kill people?" I insisted he told me.
"Well... we did work together in some ways. Our work was more or less the same. But our powers are slightly different so our victims were also separated in the working classes. However, I know he did his job very well. Too well. And then one day... he just lost it. There was yelling... smashing... and breaking... it was indeed the end for Infinity. And the worse part was, he had nowhere to go after that. That's why he came back to the human world," Kyo explained.
"Back...? He's been here before the work then? And you still haven't explained exactly what you mean by this work... why did you kill people? And why did he lose it?" I asked.
"I can't answer all your questions, Luka. I'm sure you'll find out soon enough anyway," Kyo told me.
"Fine... then, it's my turn to talk!" I told him, slamming the sheet of paper from the hospital onto the table.
