Tick
Tick
Tick
Tick
...
I gazed at the seconds ticking by. I was sat in class, feeling like I was all alone. Sora and Mei were messing around at the back while my attention was on the knife in my bag.
"Luka..."
Go away.
"Luka,"
I don't want to do this anymore.
"Luka!"
I looked up.
"Class is over. You've been staring into space without a word throughout the whole lesson. And you didn't talk to us at all when you came into school," Sora complained.
I got up.
Mei suddenly grabbed my arm.
"Stop it,"
"You're scaring me," she told me.
"I'm ok," I replied.
"No, you're not! Luka, talk to us!" Sora demanded.
"I... don't want to. You'll get hurt too if I drag you into this..." I told them.
"Luka, please. What happened?" Mei asked.
I slowly turned my back and walked out the door.
"Luka..." Sora mumbled.
I walked out of the room to see Infinity leaning on the wall. Was he listening?
I walked passed him and he didn't say a word. He could see I was miserable... yet didn't act on it. Nothing's changed... what am I even doing? Playing it miserable like some attention seeking baby? This isn't me.... smile, Luka... smile... but how can I when I'm feeling so down? It's like an invisible knife is stabbed into my chest that nobody else can see. I just have to pretend it's nor there... but it hurts so much. Infinity has one too... yet he's strong enough to make it seem like it's not there at all... how? How do you do it, Infinity...? How is this agonizing pain not dragging you down?
"Luka,"
"Huh?" I mumbled, noticing Kyo in front of me.
His eye had a rather large purple bruise around it.
"What happened to you?" I asked.
"Could you come see me after school? Just outside the school would be fine. I just want to talk with you," Kyo told me, ignoring my question.
"Why...?" I asked.
"Why?" He repeated, grabbing a hold of my shoulder in a brutal manner as his smile remained.
I flinched at the pain of impact hurting the burn left from last night.
"Because I'm not stupid," he finished, letting go of my shoulder as he passed by.
He knows? Was the burn that obvious? Or was I that obvious? Infinity warned me not to trust Kyo but... does it even matter anymore? What's the point of this game? Has someone already won? Or am I just playing alone...?
After school...
"What is it, Kyo?" I asked, meeting him at the gate.
A slight breeze went by as the empty school shadowed us.
