More Problems

"You want to go to the underworld? Don't bother. They may be slightly more organized but so is their killing. Not a lot of people are accepted there. If you've so much as got something other then demon blood running through your veins then you'll be welcomed by the blood brothers," Infinity told me.

"Who?" I asked, stood under the umbrella with him as we walked back to my house.

"Two soul demons," Infinity told me.

"Soul demons? The type of demon Kyo is? The ones that gain years from taking a human soul and gain magic from the magical creature souls?" I asked.

"Yeah. Those. They'd take your soul if you weren't welcome. Or even take it and put it back. They could manipulate it to basically be lifeless but not destroyed and then shove it back in your body meaning the only thing supporting your life is the magic in your blood that the soul will rely on to keep the body alive too. But that's a completely different story. My point is that demons from the underworld aren't born to be civil in most aspects. They're raised to be far too comfortable adapting to a naturally stronger magic then the extent of magic releasable in the human world," Infinity went on.

"I see... so I'm safer here?" I asked.

"... you are as long as I'm here," Infinity told me.

I looked at Infinity with a small blush on the side of my cheek. He can be sweet when he wants to be...

But my thoughts were distrusted when suddenly Infinity stopped walking as he looked around the empty area. We were walking down a path at the back of a few houses.

"Is something-"

Suddenly Infinity stood in front of me as he bashed his two swords together as something rocketed into it. Several knives fell to the floor.

"What...?!" I gasped.

"Hahahahaha!" A voice laughed as a hooded figure jumped over the houses and ran across the rooftops.

"Kyo?" I mumbled nervously.

"Grr!" Infinity grunted as he jumped up into the air and swung himself around as he released the knives that had been thrown. They missed the figure by mear miller-meters as it jumped down from a house, leaving the knives to fall to the ground after crashing into a wall.

"Why didn't he use any magic?" I questioned as Infinity landed back on the ground.

"I... don't know... I don't like the look of this," Infinity mumbled.

"Kyo said he just wanted to provoke a reaction from you but he said he wouldn't have to anymore... so this is just annoying that he's still trying to mess with you like this. I'm glad you've fully regenerated by now at least so you're able to still move quickly. Thanks for saving me... again... I'm really sorry I've become so much trouble..." I apologized, looking down to the floor in shame.

"Ugh. Luka, look, here. You need to call me if anything ever happens to you, alright? I'll be there most of the time but just in case. I can't risk losing you," Infinity told me as he handed me a piece of paper with some numbers on it.

His number...?!

"And the 'antisocial' emo boy who wants to avoid socializing with people carries his number around why...?" I asked, picking up the umbrella.

Luckily the rain had died down.

"Shut up," Infinity replied.

"Noted. Anyway, what do you mean you can't risk losing me?" I asked.

"If you ask me more questions then you'll be dead before I answer them," He threatened.

"Says the boy who just seconds ago clearly stated that he wanted to avoid me dying..." I pointed out as he started to walk ahead.
