I ran back to school to find it was lunch. Sora and Mei spotted me and wondered where I'd been.
"Why'd you run outta class, Luka? The teachers are going mad!" Sora told me on top of the loud voices of the playground.
"I... I had to stop something... but it turns out I kinda annoyed someone by doing it," I told them.
Of course, I wasn't going to say what had really happened.
"It's that boy, isn't it? The one that hurt himself. Did he try something again?" asked Sora.
"Kinda.........." I mumbled a reply.
"Geez. That boy has a messed up head. Why's he trying so hard to end his existence? Doesn't he have anyone to talk to bout this kinda stuff?" Sora asked.
"He pushes everyone away... so no. But I don't think he wants someone to talk to. Maybe he knows his problems can't be solved that easily so sees telling anyone as pointless. Or maybe he's just trying to find someone he can truly trust. Maybe it's humans all together that he doesn't trust. Since he seems to despise them so much..." I explained.
"You'd be surprised what hidden intentions lurk behind a cruel exterior. Sometimes people put up walls not to keep others out but to see who cares enough to break them down," Mei mentioned.
"Think you could get him to talk, Luka?" Asked Sora.
"I don't know. I want to be able too..." I told her.
"Don't get yourself hurt, Luka," Mei told me in her usual quiet voice.
"I won't," I smiled back at them.
I suddenly noticed Yukio walking by.
Agh! I should go and apologise to him.
"I'll catch you guys later," I called as I ran off.
"Hm? Ok..." Sora muttered blankly.
"Poor lovestruck Luka," Mei commented.
"Meh. I think she'll be ok," Sora smiled.
"... Mei thinks so too," Mei added.
Meanwhile...
"Yukio!" I called as I stumbled over to Yukio.
"I am so sorry for suddenly storming out on you! Really, I know you wanted to help me but I just left you to do everything," I told him.
"It's fine. Don't worry about it," he said plainly as he handed me a folder.
"I finished off the project for you. Should be up to your standards," he told me.
"Uh. Right... Thank you..." I mumbled, feeling really bad that I'd just stormed off and left him.
How am I ever going to get anywhere with Yukio if I keep pulling stuff like this?!
"Hello, Miss Rose," came a familiar voice.
"Huh? Oh, Kyo. Why are you still calling me that?!" I grunted, turning around to see Kyo.
"It's fun to see your reactions," he smiled.
"Ugh," I grumbled.
"Anyway... did, erm... he go back home?" I asked.
"Indeed. He's won't be coming back to school today. He needs to regenerate himself," Kyo informed me.
"Regenerate?" I questioned.
"He can't die... but that doesn't mean he can't break. You should know by now that when he says he is emotionless, he means he can't be affected by the actions that cause them. At least not in the same way humans are. Why do you think he doesn't get involved in any form of relationship?" Kyo asked.
