Lhaine Lee Ramos - POV

"I can't believe you lost," tinabihan ako ni Diane sa lobby ng hotel.

"You answer back now huh? Mukhang nagbago ka nga. Sorry then, it's just so frustrating.

"Talaga? Kailangan ko yatang sabihing 'show's over' sa lahat," sarcastic na sagot ko. My head started to ache again.

"My mom forced me to join a boot camp once. I refused of course dahil maraming lamok, it'll be full of stangers at baka magka-muscle pa ang thin legs ko pero wala akong nagawa. But after then, I met this guy and he's the reason kaya lagi kong inaabangan ang summer."

"Diane, what are you talking about?" nagtatakang tanong ko. I'm sure I looked so puzzled.

"Just listen, you might end up learning something," seryosong sabi nito bago nagpatuloy. "He called me a brat, I called him a punk. Siya ang pinakaguwapo sa camp so I tried flirting with him but he won't budge. He went on with saying that I'm just a girl who's afraid of being inferior. That Jakes Fernando's really a punk psychic," she paused and sighed.

"He's like a walking quotes book! When I was with him, I felt like a different person in a different world. But it did not last that long. Mom died on the scene and Dad's still on a coma. I did not say anything to anyone except to Kath and Erika. I hated you because I found everything unfair. I've been strong on putting up a front at ikaw naman, maraming knights to save you. Our mind's a weird system. I won't blame you if you judge me."

I saw him the next summer at he same camp but he acted like he never knew me. I got bullied at that stupid camp and he just watched. I hated the fact that I was infatuated with him and anticipated the whole summer just to see him. Alam mo bang baka hindi na ako maka-enroll next school year? Nauubos na lahat ng pera namin. I'm really broke to tell you the truth," tuloy niya.

"Last Christmas, may natanggap akong bouquet of flowers at isang letter, here it is if you want to see it," may inilabas siyang papel mula sa wallet niya. Inabot ko iyon at binasa.
