I had never flown before, yet I was calm. Percy insisted on flying in a private jet, according to him it was safer. I knew the enemy of the war we were about to face was the Charm Speaks. Inside I felt like there was another enemy out there, lurking in the shadows.
"Max." My head snapped to the side to greet Percy's bottle green orbs. Concern lingered in them as he asked," baby, are you ok?"
I placed my hand in his, finding comfort in the circles I traced across his skin. Without meeting his gaze I responded," I'm apprehensive about this war. With so many claims about the enemy, it's hard to know which are true and which are not. I feel like we're flying in blind."
Percy's baritone voice softened," I share your concern." He raised my chin with the tips of his fingers, gently forcing my eyes to peer into his. "But I would never bring you to a place that could possibly threaten your safety."
"Its not my safety I'm concerned about-"
Percy sighed, cutting me off," if your worried about your brother-"
"No," I said sharply. He froze, looking deeply into my eyes, he already knew the answer. "I'm worried about you. In the middle of that hell. You could be killed." The word tasted like rotten food smelled. I wanted to gag but held my face together in a serious expression. After a moment of thought he unbuckled my seatbelt. "What-"
He plucked me from my seat and put me to rest on his lap. His muscle wrapped arms embraced me tightly. I returned his embrace from my embarrassing straddle position. My chin was rested comfortably on his shoulder while he affectionally rubbed the back of my head. The soft strands of my chestnut hair felt soothed by his ghost like touch.
After a while he stated," I have been in many wars. I've survived losing my sister to a human's rejection. I've survived my ruthless father and the curse that follows a Supreme Alpha. I've survived so many things, just so I could have the chance to meet you."
My breath hitched as he continued his heartfelt proclamation. "Now that I have you, I have no intention of letting anyone take me from you. Not even death."
"Percy..." I breathed, at a loss for words. When I pulled back from his embrace his eyes were blazing green, a passionate color I've never seen so clearly.
"Let me love you," he said. "Now and when I return from war. You are my life, My Hazel. Without you I have no reason to kill - to fight - to survive."
I didn't have words to express what his meant to me, but I did have lips. And with my lips I painted raw, hungry, red passion. My heart beat like the sun did on the California beaches of July. It pounded against my chest until I was left hot and baked in Percy's torturous kisses. I kept getting burned but I didn't mind. What was life without a little Chaos?
His hands clawed at my clothes like they were a barrier keeping me from him. His grinding hips were the gasoline on my fire, making the burn instantaneous and all the more exciting. Our mouthes clashed never tasting enough, the network of sparks sizzling across our skin teasing, just on the edge of that final climax. The anticipation nearly killed me as I pushed as much friction against his body as I possibly could.
He growled digging his fingers into my hips that rocked against his own. I just wanted him to feel my unspoken words. My hands got lost in his inky black hair, letting the locks ignite a growl from his throat.
He pulled away sending pain down my body. I wanted him now. I was on fire without him, except this kind of burn was unbearable. "Fuck Max. We need to stop."
