I think I was in a hospital. I could hear the beeping of the machine and the needle sticking out of my arm. The pain was my next thought. My ribs felt compressed and sore, just on the edge of painful. My neck felt warm, very tender and raw. A sudden coldness dropped on my shoulder, like drips of rain. I felt someone holding me in the hospital bed, the chest resting against my back racked with small sobs.
Then the tingles came crashing down, I felt him intertwined in my body. His arms wrapped around my stomach, our bodies impossibly close. Was Percy crying?
"Percy?" I whispered, hoping I was loud enough for him to hear.
"Sweetheart?" He returned, in a hopeful tone.
"Yeah," I said, my mind very cloudy.
I felt more extreme sobs rack through his bare chest,"Max I'm so sorry! Please don't leave me Max, please stay!" He begged his voice so venerable and scared.
He dug me closer into his chest, small kisses rapidly being placed on the side of my head. I could feel the stabbing pain in my chest remembering the recent events. "Why won't you just tell me the truth?" My voice coming out a trembling whisper.
I felt more tears drop on my shoulder," I was just trying to protect you," his words came out as broken vowels.
I intertwined his hand in mine. The tingles a harmony of reassurance," I am strong Percy, I don't want you to shelter me from the world. Tell me the truth and I'll stay," I told him.
I felt him needingly tuck his face just below my jaw line, his breath was warm on my neck as he whispered," ok, My Hazel."
His sobs stopped and his tears stopped steaming. The image replayed in my mind over and over again, his face... his biting me and holding me so tight he broke my ribs. Even now I could still feel the piercing pain in my neck as his teeth sunk into my skin. I could still feel my body screaming as if it had been set on fire.
His love-less eyes had struck me cold and scared. I was in over my head, I didn't know what I was doing when it came to this world or to Percy. But I think Gabe will know.
Percy laid butterfly kisses on my neck, the feeling internally revolting after what he had done... and shamefully pleasurable to my body. Why couldn't I be mad at him! Why did I tell him I would stay! What was happening to me?
"Rest My Hazel, its time for you to sleep," his soft voice flowed into my ears.
Hearing the word rest I realized how tired I still was. As if on command my body fell to the comfort of sleep.
I awoke to the sound of a tray being set down. My eyes fluttered open to meet Gabe's warm brown eyes. "Sorry Max, I was just bringing you some food. I didn't mean to wake you," he apologized.
Based on the silk texture of the sheets and the black curtains behind Gabe, I was back at the mansion.
"How long have I been asleep?" I asked him, my vision starting to focus.
I heard him sigh heavily," you were unconscious for two days before you woke up in the hospital with Percy... since you feel back asleep you've been out cold for three days."
This caused me to bolt upright, I groaned out feeling the pain of my ribs. Gabe was immediately at my side, his hand on my back and his other on my arm. He was keeping me from moving and making the pain any worse. "Don't push your self," he ordered, "Your ribs are in bad shape and your body's weak."
I looked up at him with wide eyes," five days?" I clarified.
He nodded solemnly," no organs were badly injured, just bruised." He slowly rested my back on the bed head board. He grabbed a pillow placing it behind my back for comfort.
