"Alright that's everything! I'm so excited the entire family is together again with such a beautiful addition!" Lana sang. Apparently today was 'family day' and that meant a picnic in the pack. Now that I was properly introduced to the pack it was important I interacted with them-according to Lana that is.
Tingles, Lana, evil-tingles, Angela and I were all piled into the car. It was a beautiful fall day, sixty degrees and the sky was Robin eggshell blue. We were headed for the pack park to eat sandwiches and chat with the other wolves. I'm extremely nervous.
Tingles put took my hand in his, the reassuring look he gave me was enough to get me to relax. I can tell he's apprehensive about the day too, his leg keeps shaking. I put my hand on his leg. His head snapped in my direction. I mouthed 'relax', that seemed to get him to settled down.
Arriving at the park and setting up wasn't so bad, Lana just kept rambling away about how happy she was we were all together. Percy held me in his lap, his scent enough to dizzy my senses. I placed a firm kiss on his cheek, he rolled his eyes and pulled me back to his lips instead.
I smiled against the kiss, sweet honey marched into my mouth at the mere brush of his lips. How did he always taste so good? Lana smiled at us, "and here I thought my boy would never fall in love."
I blushed and Percy rolled his eyes. Olcan came back from the car, we had just gotten here and he was already grumpy. "Is everything ok dear?" Lana asked worriedly.
He pushed Lana gently to the side, a sign he didn't want to be touched. "No dear," he said forcibly. "The council has called and we have three days until we are needed in Europe." He made eye contact with Percy," both of us."
Upon hearing the words my heart skipped a beat and I felt the arms I had around Percy's waist, tighten. A knot formed in my stomach hearing they would be leaving, I could almost say I felt sick.
A irritated growl rippled past Percy's lips. He brushed his nose across my mark, a feeling that made me shiver. Olcan watched this exchange with a glare. "We don't have a choice son. You know that."
Lana interjected before a fight broke out. "Let's just enjoy the time we have." Lana looked absolutely tiny as she wrapped her arms around one of Olcan's arms. He seemed to relax but the disgruntled look didn't fall from his face.
"Finally, some action and not all this boring lovey- dovey shit. I swear it's poison." I sighed heavily. It was nice forgetting Angela was here for five minutes.
"Just because your mate rejected you, doesn't give you the right to be a bitch," Percy snapped. My breath hitched while the rest of the table seemed to ignore it.
Angela bared her ivory teeth at him, her nose crinkled in anguish. "You disgust me brother. Sleeping with a human even after what one of her kind did to me."
This time it was me who snapped. "I may be human but that doesn't mean I should be held responsible for all the bad things other humans have done. You don't see me throwing on a nazi band and hunting down Jews do you now?"
Before Angela could reply a tiny voice interjected. "Luna Max!"
Standing next to the table was a small girl in sandy pigtails. Her eyes were sea glass blue and she wore pink overalls over a green striped, long sleeved shirt. I gently pulled away from Percy and bent down by her side. "Yes, sweetheart?"
