Confession time. From the beginning of this book, it was always Percy's fate to die. Now I understand a lot of you are angry and confused, please hear me out. I'm sure you all were very focused and pin pointed on Percy and Max's relationship. The truth of the matter is, he is not right for Max. Yes, she was the half that he was missing. But he was not the half that she was missing.

If you re-read the book, (without commenting spoilers) you'll hopefully realize that this book was not just about Percy and Max's romance, but also about Gabriel and Max's as well.

Gabe is the perfect mate for Max in the author's opinion. I wanted her to fall in love with Gabe before they were mated so that when the time came for her to realize she had a second chance mate... she already had mourned the loss of her first mate and realized she loved Gabe before a mate bond was ever created.

Through out the book, it was referenced multiple times. Before the war when the family went off on a family picnic, Percy had feeling of mourning when he saw Max playing with the children. He felt as though that was something he would never have. Max and Gabe had an obvious bond in the sense that fate in the book left hints for those two.

The humming when their skins touched, how opened she felt around him, the physical as well as emotional attraction to him. The bond was always there, if you reread you will see it.

I truly do hope that you all still want to continue with this series. The next book I plan on covering the struggles and the beauty of three pairs of relationships.

Andrew and Angela's book is going to be the prequel. You know that their relationship ends very badly, you learned that in this book and I'd appreciate it if you don't spoil it for other readers. But if you do choose the read this book, it is not all grim and tragic, it's got its beautiful moments too. It was a lot of fun writing a book that didn't involve having to write a relationship from scratch. Angela and Andrew are best friends at the beginning of the book and there is more about that in the summery below.

If you really do like Percy's character, his character plays a big role in Angela's life during the book. Sometimes he will be the monsters we've discovered him to be, other times he will be a cute over protective big brother. This story not only high lights Angela's romance and history, but the entire family's as well.
