When I woke up I felt agitated, like I didn't sleep well. I rolled over in bed in search of Percy's warmth, instead I feel the harsh coldness of the floor. Oomph. After falling out of bed in a mass of blankets and unbrushed hair I'm awake. I scanned the room finding no trace of Percy.
Mildly annoyed I got ready for the day before trotting down the stairs. I'm surprised to see so many people in the mansion. People are scurrying left and right, if I wasn't mistaken I'd think we were in the ER. Boxes, crates, luggage is carried from out of the house and to a series of trucks and SUVs sitting in the long driveway.
A few people with clip boards survey the rooms answering questions and shouting orders. I approach the closest man with a clip board. I tentivley poke him, immediately stopping him mid-shout of something. He looks down before his eyes widen. "L-Luna your awake. Now that your out of the room do you mind if I have a few pack members pack for your journey across the sea?"
I feel like a deer in the head lights,"U-um don't worry about it, you guys seem busy. I can pack for myself."
He nods before scribbling something down on his clip board. A crash echoes in the other room. The man swears," excuse me Luna I need to go sort that out." His legs carrying him swiftly out of the room.
I keep forgetting we're about to go to war, even as we pack it doesn't feel real. I sneak into the library finding exactly who I was hoping to find. Gabe stands behind a table with a card board box. He face lights up when he sees me. "Max, what do you think for the trip. Julius Caesar or Catcher in the Rye?" He holds up the two books side by side.
A smile fights it's way onto my face. "Why not both?"
That heart warming glint fills his eyes. He makes tisking sounds with his tongue before saying," greedy, greedy, greedy. But if the Luna asks of it, how can I refuse?"
"Do you think Parker will be ok? With Belle and Pork-pine?" I asked him wearily.
He glanced at me over his shoulder," he left less then twenty four hours ago and you miss him already?"
I nodded,"I know it's stupid, I just worry is all. If you were taken away from me I would worry just as much, I can't help it if I'm a lover and not a fighter."
Grinning he tossed both books into the box before returning to the shelves to browse. "And that's what I love about you."
I groaned leaning against the shelf," that I'm a worry-holic?"
He chuckled," that even after all the crap you've been through this past month, you still have big heart."
Hearing another crash outside the door I remember why I came looking for Gabe. "Pony, Do you know where Percy is?"
He hums for a moment answering," war room I believe."
"Thank you!" I sang before making my way to my mate.
When I knocked on the heavey wooden door I got a sense of deja vu, and not the good kind. I could only hope things would end better this time. Taking a moment for myself, I examine the silver crest in the door. The Aconite Pack.
When the door opens its Tristan. He has a tired look in his eyes and his shoulders are slumped onto the edge of the door. He looks deathly pale, he could vomit at any moment. "Oh my god, Tristan! Are you ok?" I reach out to take his body weight but he puts his hand up, Stopping my movements.
"I just didn't sleep well last night, food poisoning I think."
I catch a glimpse of the shirt he's wearing, it's a little small on him and the style doesn't really match his 'hot confident' guy personality. "Is that Parker's shirt?"
