My hands tightened on Parker's wheelchair. My eyes landed on an older man, just on the path in front of us. His hair had been freshly shaved to a buzz cut and his jaw had a long scar running down it. If it wasn't for the expensively tailored navy suite and the briefcase in his hand I would have guessed he was a pack warrior.

The way his cold blue eyes stared through our souls was well-intense. His shoulders were broad and his chest thickly build. Power rolled off him and his size compared to mine, intimidated me. He looked like a man who couldn't be loved or compromised with, that's why I looked to Tristan for help.

Tristan stepped in front of Parker and I protectively. The muscles in his back visually tensed up. The tranquil feel of the garden quickly turned dark and chilling. "Ah, Tristan. Why don't you dispose of these two. I can smell the weakness from here. It's disgusting."

"That is the Luna you are talking to, show some respect," Tristan growled.

The man's eyes looked around Tristan, narrowing in. "Human........ the both of them."

Uh oh.

"I believe I should call Per-"

The man raised his hand. I became alert when Tristan immediately flinched like he was expecting a blow to the face. Instead the unnamed man clapped his hand on Tristan's shoulder. Dominantly, not friendly.

"Not until I get a good look at my future daughter-in-law." Tristan went to protest but was cut off,"alone." The man in front of me was Percy's father.

I felt my feet shift back and forth, everything about this was unsettling and Parker was in the middle of it. That's why I had to get him out of here. "Tristan, take Parker inside. I'll speak to..." I trailed off, looking to the man for a name.

"Alpha Olcan," he filled in, he seemed pleased this was going how he wanted. I nodded.

Tristan looked torn, I gave him the look. That one that said,' get my brother out of here.' He understood and took my brother, strolling him away quickly. I was surprised that Parker didn't say anything, maybe he was getting smarter.

I knitted my hands infront of me," Its a pleasure to mee-"

"Skip the formalities," he snapped. "Don't think for a moment I'm happy your a filthy human." He rolled his neck, cracking it. "Weak blood being brought into my family wasn't something I wanted to hear once I returned from war."

I said the first thing that came to mind," I care for your son very much and his pack. Do not make judgements so carelessly."

A wicked smile of amusement filled my vision. "I see you haven't been properly trained. You lack discipline. Trying to come across as brave is only making you more pathetic."

Every word that came out of this man's mouth disgusted me. I itched for Percy, I hoped he would be here soon.

"You come from war?" I asked, or rather stalled.

His hard eyes studied me, before saying," let's go for a walk." Before I could protest he grabbed my arm, linking it in his. What a gentlemen, hear the sarcasm? We started to walk away from the mansion, butterflies erupting in my stomach.

"Don't you want to say hello to Percy first?" I did my best to keep my words steady but my voice wavered.

"My son can wait. I want to get to know you." The way he said it made my heart skip a beat.

"There's not much to know," I admitted wearily.

His lips flickered up into a cold smile," good, less of my time to waste." I tried to pull away from his arm discreetly but he tugged me back. His grip on my arm was beyond painful.
