My eyes gauged her reaction. As I expected she was mortified, her hand covering her mouth in shock. I held the door open for her to walk in. She needed to understand a important lesson and she needed to know who I really was.
Her eyes finally looked to me, confusion mixed with fear. "Get in," I growled out, growing impatient. She quickly scrambled in, I slammed the door shut behind her. She jumped at the sound.
I didn't want to do this in front of her... but Gabe was persuasive and he was right. She needed to know what our world was like and this was the only way to do it.
"Stand in the corner," I barked at her. I felt my wolf bite at my insides for my tone but I needed to keep a heartless act up for the Gold Moon beta.
"What-" she started to ask.
"I GAVE YOU A ORDER!" I shouted.
She shut her mouth firmly, I knew she was angry. Especially after I told her we were equals last night. She stood in the corner silent. I would explain it all to her later but for now, I need to be a ruthless alpha.
I turned to the Gold Moon Beta,"Your Alpha declared War on my pack, that is why you are here," I spoke in a cold, calm voice. His grey eyes followed me as I paced the room. "I could kill you and send a message like your alpha did with my scout." His gaze was unafraid of me, that would change soon. "But I want to send a greater message."
His muscles tightened awaiting to hear his fate. I withdrew a stone from my pocket.
It was made of silver, about three inches long and two inches thick. It was cylinder shaped, looked like it was made of stone. It was dull at the end, not made to pierce skin.
His expression was still fearless but his hands gripped the arms of the chair tightly.
"The only thing more painful then watching a loved one die is watching them betray you."
His eyes spoke one word, never.
My lips curled up into a cruel and knowing smile," You won't be betraying your Alpha," I announced. He was taken back by my words but he tried to hide it. I could feel her watching me. I could hear her heart racing from here.
With her watching I said," Your going to betray your Luna. But you don't call her that, do you? You call her little sister."
His body lurched forward, the chains keeping him down. His breath was heavy as he was on the edge of shifting. With silver in his system he wouldn't be able to. A rage filled fire danced in his grey eyes. His veins bulged out of his skin.
I stepped behind him, my hands rested on his shoulders. He tried to flinch away but I held his shoulders painfully still. His bones cracked just enough for him to get the message to stop moving. He groaned into the rag in his mouth, he was ready to take the burning now.
I ripped open the side of his shirt so his shoulder was visible. Max stepped forward, as if to stop me. My eyes flashed black on purpose. Her face looked frightened for a single moment. She knew not to take another step. As much as it pained me to scare her like that, she couldn't intervene.
I took my Supreme Stone, positioning it in my hands like you would a pen. I drew my symbol on his skin, elegant and fierce the lines. He screamed into the rag, his skin sizzling under the stone's touch. His body tried to throw itself back and forth but I kept him still with one hand.
Like paint I drew across his skin, my symbol was well known and it was feared to those that knew of it. Those that had seen it know of both its beauty and its commanding respect. This mark would guarantee this small war's victory.
