"Wendy!"

Both our bodies tensed up.

My eyes were as wide as saucers and I'm pretty sure hers too.

She jumped off me, almost tripping in the process.

To her dismay, it was her neighbouring friends.

"Uh, who is he?" One of them asked after a moment of silence.

They all looked completely shocked.

"He's a friend from school." She answered, "His name is Tyler."

"Why didn't you tell us you're dating someone?" They exclaimed, completely ignoring her previous statement.

They were 4 girls and 1 gay guy.

"We're not actually dating." She awkwardly said.

They all gave her 'that look'.

After some time, they only then realised they interrupted something. "Let us not disturb," They said, "You are so telling us everything later on." They whispered.

Wendy gave them a fake smile as a goodbye.

They finally left, leaving Wendy and I in an uncomfortable silence.

She sat down, leaving a considerable amount of space between us.

After some time of a silence driven vibe between us, I asked her if she was okay.

"I'm alright," She answered. "You?"

"I'm good." I responded.

"Cool." She nodded.

Awkward silence.

"Why-"

We interrupted each other.

"I thin-"

"You go first." I suggested like a gentleman.

"Oh, it's nothing important," She said, "You speak."

I contemplated insisting but decided otherwise.

"How do you feel about what just happened?"

"Uh, well. I don't know," She shrugged. "But the upside is that they don't know like...your age and stuff. They just saw their friend kissing a guy they don't know."

I nodded in agreement.

"Maybe I should go." She pointed behind her with her thumb.

"Oh, okay. Let me walk you." I offered as we stood up.

"Sure." She said as we started walking.

Minutes of silence passed before I abruptly stopped.

"Okay, this has gone on long enough."

"What?" She asked, looking adorably confused.

"This silence between us. Your friends saw us kissing, sure, but it's not that big of a deal because they don't even know my age. Why are we so quiet?" I asked, my voice laced in frustration.

"I don't know Tyler. Maybe it's because it wasn't your friends who saw us kissing. Maybe because its not your friends who are going to drill you with questions. Do you really think you wouldn't mind if your friends saw us in such a position?" She snapped.

Well, that was unexpected.

"For your information, yes Wendy I wouldn't mind because I-" I stopped myself before I could reveal more.

"You what?"

"Never mind," I dismissed the topic.

"No, I don't want to never mind. Tell me." She persisted.

"It's nothing, drop it!" I snapped.

But did she drop it? Of course not.

"No Tyler. I'm sick of neverminding or dropping stuff, tell me!"

"I'M FALLING FOR YOU WENDY, OKAY?" I blabbed.

To say we were both shocked, is an understatement.

I couldn't believe I had just said that, she probably couldn't believe what she just heard.

After a few minutes, she managed to open her mouth, "Y-you what?"

"You heard me." I said as I faced away from her.

I can't believe this.

I can't believe I let this happen.

"Am I really falling for the fat girl?" I find myself wandering.

No. That's impossible.

I absolutely cannot fall in love with the fat girl.
