Okay so on Saturday I think it was, I was checking someone out (as a cashier, not a creeper you weirdos) and when I got to the Rockstar drinks that they were going to purchase, one of the customers said "2 for 4" or something like that and I asked them, "For price match?"and the customer replied with a yes.
After he told me that it was for price match, I told him that we don't price match anymore. Then he looked at me and said "Are you serious?" Or something the long of those lines of that question, and I told him "Yes, really" I even showed him the card that was on the register (same exact thing on every register) the card stated that as of May 3rd, 2017, Walmart no longer does price matching for anything anymore unless it's a walmart.com item (That part wasn't mentioned on the card. That's just something the CSM'S told us)
After the customer read it, he sent his wife who was right next to him to go get a manager (Or a CSM in this case) When the CSM came over she asked what the problem was and I told her that I mentioned to the customers that we don't price match anymore... The customer told us that the Saratoga Springs walmart still does it. The CSM mentioned to the customer that every walmart was supposed to stop doing it.
After this whole thing, the customer was pretty upset. . I was thinking in my head, Really? You're gonna get upset over a couple of Rockstar drinks because we don't do price match anymore? I mean even getting a CSM over after I told the customer and showed the customer the sign that said we don't price match anymore? Really?
What good would that gave done? Did the customers really think that by getting a CSM would change the fact that they would say "Oh well since you didn't know,we'll let you off with a warning so go ahead and price match it for them." Yeah... No. Nice try.. It's the store's rules. Not just one specific one.
