I walked into the kitchen, the morning sunlight pouring in through the windows. On the table, there were plates filled with breakfast. Nathan had cooked eggs, bacon and pancakes, my favorite breakfast, but I did not have the urge to sit down and eat. "Have a seat and--" Nathan turned around with a spatula in his hand, but I cut him off.
"No, thank you. I'll be off," I said as I shook the keys around in my hand and I stormed off.
These passed few days, I had been giving Nathan the cold shoulder. I knew I had no reason to, but I couldn't help it, because no matter what the circumstance, he always hated Ryan and there was no way of convincing him otherwise. My mother and I are not on the best terms either, and she only comes out of her room when I am out of the house. I haven't spoken with Ryan either, but I don't think he's ready to hear the truth and I don't think I'm ready to tell it.
I sighed as I got into my car, sitting behind the wheel, thinking deeply. It was true that I had gotten obsessed with beating Mr. Winchester, but the idea of winning and him muttering his last words, really motivated me to keep on going. And I already knew what I was going to do next. All I needed to do was to get both Haileys. But the question was: how am I going to get them?
I started up the engine and locked the doors. I pulled out of the driveway and headed to my new job: a fast food restaurant. I quitted the job at the hotel, and decided to just keep a low profile while I came up with ideas of defeating Mr. Winchester. This fast food restaurant wasn't the best, and it certainly was not a step-up from working at five star, top quality, fancy restaurant, but it was quick to hire me.
"Good morning," the manager, Harry Styles, who looked nothing like the one from One Direction, greeted me when I walked through the doors. He always joked about his name, and always said that the One Direction Harry Styles would wish to be as handsome as him. But, we all know, he isn't the most handsome fella.
"Good morning," I responded in my chirpy voice. It was hard to keep a smile on my face, but I managed.
I went to the back and got into my uniform. I got into my position, which was behind the cash register with a smile plastered on my face as I waited for customers to come inside. After a while, customers piled in for the breakfast rush. My coworker had accidentally splashed some hot coffee from a customer's cup on my hand while handing it to them. But, I managed to maintain a calm composure as I just wiped off the hot coffee.
When the bell dinged on the door, I turned to see Ryan walking up to the cash register. My eyes slightly widened before returning to normal. I stood there, smiling at him. "Hi! Welcome to Quik Food, what can I get you??" I asked, and he stared directly into my eyes.
"Yes, I'd like a black coffee, an egg and bacon biscuit and an explanation," he answered, and I gulped nervously as I punched in the food he requested onto the screen.
"Yes, coming right up," I told him as his receipt printed after he paid. He hung around to the side and watched me as I took a variety of customers' orders. When he got his order, he stood there, sipping his coffee while watching me.
"Is this man bothering you?" My manager had asked after a while and I shook my head with a smile.
It was lunchtime and I was on break. He was waiting and we took seats in a booth in the way back of the building. He offered his cold biscuit to me, and I refused.
"I'm here for an explanation. And I'm going to get it right now, one way or another," Ryan told me and I sighed, scratching the back of my head.
"I apologize. Yes, I understand, so I'll give you the explanation. I guess it's pretty simple... maybe I overreacted? Anyways, your real mother is Hailey Bradley, the wife of Mr. Bradley, and she is not dead."
