I kept trying to call Ryan's phone, but it kept telling me that his phone was turned off. I tried one last time, and the automated voice popped up and I sighed, totally giving up.
"Hey, I made breakfast," Nathan announced as he knocked on my door.
"Okay, I'll be there right now," I replied as I went to my closet. I just grabbed a bubblegum pink sweatshirt, with white cursive words that read Je Voudrais Vous, and then I took some light blue jeans from one of my dresser drawers.
I changed into them and then threw my hair up in a bun. I curled my eyelashes only, not bothering to apply mascara or anything else.
When I walked to the kitchen, Nathan was sitting here drinking his glass of orange juice.
"Where's Mom?" I asked him as I sat down across from him. There was already a plate in front of me. It had four pancakes, four strip of bacon and two eggs. Nathan knew me too well.
"She said she needed to take care of some stuff. But don't worry, she said she'll eat breakfast at a restaurant," Nathan answered me as I poured syrup all over my pancakes.
"Ah, okay, and thanks Nathan. It looks so delicious," I said, grabbing my fork before digging in. I looked up at him with my mouth full and smiled. He just chuckled as he continued to drink his orange juice.
"Lets go do something today," he suggested and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Sure. Like what?"
"Shopping?"
"Do you seriously want to take me shopping?" I asked him and he nodded.
"It makes you happy," he said as I finished up my pancakes. "And that's what I want."
I cut into my eggs, watching the yolk ooze out. He passed me a plate of toast, and I took one and ripped a piece off. I dipped it into the yolk and then ate it.
"I don't have any money," I told him.
He reached for the seat next to him and grabbed the envelopes I gave my mom. He handed them to me and I took them slowly. I looked over at him, confused.
"Your mom told me to give these back to you. She said she'd take care of it on her own," he explained and tears welled up in my eyes.
He got up and went over to me. He squatted down and took my hand into his hands, and sandwiched it between them.
"You've been through a lot. I know. So, let's go have some fun, ease your mind a bit, yeah?" He smiled softly, as he held his gaze on my eyes. I nodded slowly. He was right, it's been a rough couple of weeks.
"Okay... Shopping sounds good," I mumbled, and he chuckled while he pinched my cheek softly.

"That looks amazing!" I hurried to the rack. I pulled out a chocolatey brown sweater dress and I held it up to me. I was smiling excitedly, and Nathan just stood there, chuckling quietly to himself.
We ended up going to Forever 21 and some other stores inside the mall. I usually go to Goodwill, but this time, I want to buy new clothes just for me.
I walked out with multiple bags from the many stores I went to. We put everything in the trunk of Nathan's vehicle, and before we got in, I had the sudden urge to pee.
"Hold up. Wait here, I have to go pee."
"I guess all that shopping made you neglect your bladder," Nathan commented and I rolled my eyes. I looked up at the sky, and it was mostly covered by dark gray clouds.
"I'll be back quickly!" I raised my voice as I ran back inside the mall. I was able to find the closest restroom. I walked in, did my business and washed my hands before leaving. When I walked out, I saw a guy in a suit standing there.
My stomach twisted into a knot, and my heart began to beat faster. I turned towards the doors and two other guys were already standing beside them. I took off running towards the escalators. I had to push some people out of the way as I climbed up quickly.
When I got to the top, two were already coming at me. Just how many men are here?
I ran as fast I could, and I disappeared into the Macy's store. There were a lot of people, so I did my best to stay low and disappear with the crowd. I went into a dressing room and I locked it behind me. My phone began to ring and I answered it.
"Are you taking a shit, or what?" Nathan asked me, sounding slightly impatient.
"N-Nathan, I need help," I said, my voice trembling and I was out of breath.
"What? What happened? Where are you?"
"I'm in the Macy's upstairs," I informed him, trying my best to keep my voice down. I glanced towards the door, trying to hear if anyone was right outside.
"It started to rain. Are you in serious trouble? Do you need me to come inside and get you?"
"I-I can do it, just pull the car up really close, okay?"
I waited a couple of minutes, my heart beating faster as time went by.
"Okay, I am right outside."
"Okay." I hung up and put the phone in my pocket. I slowly opened the dressing room door and looked around. There was no guys in suits lingering around the dressing room. I quickly stepped out and made a dash for the doors.
The closer I got, the more visible Nathan's car became. Relief began to wash over me as I continued to run towards the doors.
Just as I got to the doors, my arm was grabbed roughly and I was pulled back. The person turned me around and then hugged me, putting a cloth to my face. I struggled a bit, but I suddenly felt so sleepy.
Then, everything went black.
