A few days had passed from when Ryan and I talked with David. We scheduled to have David and his girlfriend come over. I was a bit excited and nervous at the same time, because we could be closer to defeating Mr. Winchester more than we have ever been. I was nervous because there were a lot of things that could go wrong.

I was standing in the bathroom, using a flat iron to straighten my hair. It wasn't my plan to do my hair today, but when I woke up, it looked like a train wreck. Ryan was out in the living room watching cartoons with Hailey. He had looked tense from the moment he woke up. After I finished up my hair, I let it cool down while I went back into the master bedroom and I changed into some casual clothing. I wore a fitted white crop top with a pair of high waisted blue jeans. I decided not to wear any makeup.

When I went out into the living room, Ryan was on his phone. He seemed very serious and I sighed as I went and sat next to him. Hailey was on the floor playing with a few dolls we had made Ryan's assistant buy a week ago.

I clasped my hands together and placed them in my lap. I stared at Ryan, watching his face, but his worrisome expression never changed. He finally turned his head and made eye contact with me, and I gave him a reassuring smile. "Ryan, I think that everything is going to be okay from here on out."

"It's just.. we—I—finally have a chance to make everything right. I am much closer to taking down my father and making him pay for all the wrongs he has done to us and others." Ryan ran nervous hands through his hair as he shifted his gaze down to the floor. "It would be a shame if everything just went to shit after all the effort we've put in.."

I placed my hand gently down on his arm and I gave him a small squeeze. "We'll be fine, Ryan. I just want you to understand that you can't focus too much on the future, and the 'what ifs'. We're here right now, in this moment, and I think that we should give it our all in the time being to make our future much better. We'll definitely beat your father. These things take time."

The doorbell rang right after I finished talking. Ryan sprang from his seat, and rushed to the front door. I stood to my feet and I slowly walked over as Ryan opened the door. David stood there with a serious face and his girlfriend stood behind him wearing an exhausted look on her face. I came up behind Ryan and I flashed them both a smile.

"Hi guys, come on in," I said as I grabbed Ryan by the arm and pushed him to the side while I also took a step to the right, allowing David and his girlfriend to step through the doorway. David held a suitcase in his hand while his girl carried a large duffel bag. "We have a guest room that is all nice and prepared for you. Ryan will show you," I added while Ryan closed the front door behind them. Ryan glanced over at me and I urged him.

Ryan stayed silent as he walked down the hallway, and David and his girlfriend followed Ryan. "Wow, this place is really nice," David's girlfriend commented while Ryan opened the door to the guest room. I made my way over to them eventually, trying my best to keep an eye on Hailey who had stopped playing with her dolls. She was standing there in the living room, watching and observing what was going on.

"I didn't catch your name," I said to David's girlfriend when she walked out of the guest room after putting her stuff down.

"Oh, sorry about that! My name is Lucy," she told me and I held my hand out, and we shook hands. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She then noticed Hailey and her face lit up. "Oh! You have a child? What's your name?" She moved quickly over to Hailey who seemed a little uncomfortable at first.

"She isn't our daughter. She's my younger sister," Ryan stated and he stood there with his arms crossed, watching Lucy talk and play with Hailey. David glanced between all of us and then sighed, sticking his hands into his pockets. He seemed as if he wanted to say something, but he kept his mouth shut.
