My ankle was swollen, and throbbing in pain. Nathan was really angry with me, and I did manage to make it to a bus stop, but I had no money with me. I sat there, tired and confused.
A motorcycle pulled up, and when I looked up, I saw Ryan taking off his helmet. He turned off the engine and got down, kicking out the stand and hanging his helmet on the handle.
"G-Go away," I said to him, trying to stand up. I fell over and Ryan caught me in his arms. "Get away from me!"
"Kimberly. Kimberly look at me," he said gently, as he tightened his arm around me and used his other hand to cup the side of my face. "Please..?"
I moved my gaze gradually, until my eyes were on his. He smiled weakly, and then sighed.
"I know, you're not happy with me... I'm not happy with myself, either. But let me explain. I didn't point the gun at you because I wanted you dead. I pointed the gun at you, because... If I made it seem like I could kill you, they would back off."
He had pain in his eyes. He was the first one to break away from the gaze. He let go of me, and helped me sit down on the bench. He ran his fingers through his hair as he peered up at the sky.
"Kimberly, don't hate me, okay? I want to get close to you, but.... I don't think I can...."
"Why?" I whispered, scared that he would hear my voice tremble. A painful lump formed in my throat as I stared at him, waiting for an answer. He had tears in his eyes, and that's what broke my heart.
"I would only hurt you, and it fucking sucks. I've already been through this. My dad's an ass, my family is too rich for their own good and too controlling. I'm scared... I'm scared what they'll do to you, or even Hailey."
I stood up, not caring how much pain my ankle was in. I leaned all my weight on my good ankle and I wrapped my arms around him. I placed my head against his chest, and I closed my eyes.
"I'll be here, whenever you need me... Just, don't go too far, okay?" I said to him, making sure he knew I would be okay. "A-And don't cause too much trouble."
I looked up at him, watching as the tears rolled down his cheeks. Then, my tears rolled down mine on cue. He wiped my tears with his thumb and I did the same to him.
"I'll take you home..."

"Where's Wyan?" Hailey asked me, and I smiled sadly. I picked her up and placed her on my lap. She stared at me, filled with curiosity and sadness.
"Well, he's... he's on a mission," I answered her, and she looked confused.
"What mission?"
"A mission to... uh... to save the world." I had no clue on what to say to her.
"From what?" She got a bit antsy, so I set her back down on the floor. She went straight to her Barbie dolls, and began to play with them.
"Bad guys... Bad guys who like to snatch little girls like you..."
She nodded and then smiled brightly. "Yay for Wyan! Does that mean I'm safe?"
"Yes. Yes it does."

"I'm sure you are aware of Ryan's absence," Mrs. Winchester informed me. We were at a small, unique, coffee shop and she was having her favorite tea: Earl Grey.
"Um, yeah. Where did he go?" I asked her, nibbling at the slice of cheescake I ordered. It was really sweet and filling.
"I honestly don't know. But I need you to find him. He always seems to drop everything and run to you."
"I-I don't think I can find him," I told her, truthfully.
It's been two weeks since that day, and he hasn't contacted me and or even shown up to school. I was starting to worry, but a part of me knew he was safe.
"Sure you can."
"May I ask...why?"
"We need to find him to send him back to Germany. His father wants him there immediately. And apparently my husband doesn't trust anyone else, but you," Mrs. Winchester explained.
"What about my job about keeping an eye on him?"
"I honestly, have no idea. To my husband, I'm just a messenger when it comes to this. Even though I'm busy. Speaking of, I have a client to see right now. Goodbye, Kimberly." She grabbed her purse and left.
She left some money on the table right next to her empty cup. I sighed as I suddenly lost my appetite to finish the cheesecake I have. I forced myself to finish it, not wanting to waste it.
I walked out of the coffee shop, feeling sick to my stomach. When I looked up, I saw two black SUVs parked. Men in suits were standing there, watching me.
"Kimberly Adams? We need to escort you to Mr. Winchester," one of them spoke up and a man came up to me and grabbed my arm.
"Do I even have a choice?" I asked him, and he shook his head. I sighed as they forced me into the backseat of one of the vehicles. The cheesecake was coming back up, and I covered my mouth with my hand.
I stayed like this, frozen in place with my hand plastered over my mouth. If I moved, I knew I was going to puke, and I didn't want to do it right here. When we got to the mansion, I threw up as soon as I stepped out of the vehicle.
"Ugh, I do not get paid enough to deal with this," the man in front of me mumbled, and I saw a bit of my throw up was on his shoe and the bottom of his pant leg.
Whoops. Whatever.
I was escorted to Mr. Winchester's massive office. When I got inside, he was standing by the window, looking out with his hands in his pockets. The door closed behind me, leaving just us.
"Welcome, Ms. Adams. Please have a seat. I have something important to discuss with you."
