It was Saturday, a day that I did not want to bother waking up at all. But Nathan, being Nathan and all, decided to come wake me up. "Kim! Let's go to the movies!" He was talking excitedly.

I rolled my eyes and I switched sides, my back now facing him. "No, I want to sleep," I answered as I closed my eyes again.

"Kiiiiiiimmm!! I'll buy you whatever you want since I couldn't be here for your birthday," he told me and I immediately sat up.

"Whatever I want?" I asked, clarifying what he just said.

"I only have 100 dollars that I can spend on you," he replied and I nodded.

"I'll buy the tickets and popcorn. And you're going to take me to Goodwill," I told him as I stood up. He nodded and suddenly he put me in a headlock.

"N-Nathan!" I yelled out and he messed up my hair even more by rubbing the top of my head.

"You're still the same as ever. Obsessed with clothes," he said as he released me and I touched my hair that was in really bad tangles.

"Look what you did to my hair," I said to him, upset as I held up a section that was in a giant knot.

"You still love me though." He acted all innocent and I stuck my tongue out at him. He laughed and pulled me in for a hug, kissing my forehead before leaving my room to give me privacy.

As much as I try to get used to it, it still feels weird to have Nathan living here. It was too sudden. I was really hoping it would just be me and my mother, especially with the amount of dates she goes on.

When was the last time I showered.....?

Oh well. It's a Saturday, I don't really care. I threw on my last clean pair of jeans and a tie-dye t-shirt, which I don't really like. I tied my hair up in a bun and I spray on some body spray and I head out, grabbing my phone on the way.

I went to the kitchen to see Nathan drinking a bottle of water and my mother sitting at the table, wearing a frustrated expression on her face.

"What's wrong, Mom?" I asked her and she looked over at me, and a sorrowful expression washed over her face.

"Honey... I got fired from my job," she told me and my eyes widened.

"W-What? H-How?" I asked her and she shook her head. Tears began to form in her eyes.

"I gave the CEO the wrong kind of coffee. It was warm, but he likes it hot. So I took it back, but it slipped out of my hand and spilled all over his desk. On important papers and his keyboard."

"Mom...."

"I'm so sorry, I couldn't even keep my job.... I'm such a terrible parent."

"Mom, don't say that!" I raised my voice and she stood to her feet.

"I need a drink," she mumbled as she walked out the front door. I tried to stop her, but Nathan grabbed my arm.

"She wants some space. Let her," he told me and I sighed. He pulled me into a hug and I just stood there, letting him comfort me.

"Want to skip the movies and go straight to Goodwill?" He asked and I looked up at him. He was smiling and I just nodded my head slowly. It was my darn weakness.

"99.98 dollars, you literally almost spent exactly 100 dollars," he told me as he pulled out his five 20 dollar bills. The cashier gave him two pennies back and the receipt.

I happily grabbed my bags. I had like 6 bags, which made me super excited. I got like four new pairs of shoes, which took up two bags. So the other four were just clothes.

I frollicked in the parking lot and I could hear Nathan laughing. We got into his car that was parked and I put all the bags in the back.

"This will probably be my last time using my car. Gas eats up too much money, and I did drive like 10 hours coming here. So it was super expensive," he told me and I nodded slowly.

"Are you selling your car?" I asked him.

"No. I'll save it for events like this once in a while. But I'll be walking to school and once I find a job, I'll be taking the bus," he explained as he started the car.

"Thank you so much for all of this," I told him, smiling brightly as I let out a small squeal.

"Calm down," he told me with a chuckle as he pulled out of the parking lot.

"This is why I love Goodwill. I don't care if it's a thrift shop, and people have worn these clothes before. Lots of the clothes are like brand new, and it's super cheap, so I can a lot of clothes." I was talking really fast.

"Geez, when was the last time you went clothes shopping?"

"Um. 5 months ago?"

"Goodness. I forget how you get," he said with a shake of his head.

When we got home, I immediately went to my room with all my clothes and tried them all on again. Nathan knocked on my door, and came in after I put on this purple dress. It was more of a bodycon dress, I didn't really like to show my body, but it was a pretty color so I couldn't say no.

"I have a question," he told me as he sat down on my bed, next to the giant mess of clothes.

"I may have an answer."

"Who was that guy from yesterday?" He asked me and I thought real hard.

"What guy?" I didn't know who he was talking about.

"The one who got in the car after school," he explained a bit more and I opened my mouth, nodding my head.

"Oh... He's just some jerk who calls himself a brother of the girl I am babysitting. Why?"

"Nothing.. He just seemed like a dick," he answered, scratching the back of his head.

"Ahh... he is."

"Well, be careful, okay?"

"Sure, okay."
