1 Month Later

"Good morning," Nathan greeted me when I walked out of my room, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. I wore a black camisole and purple shorts, which were my pajamas, and my hair was in a very messy bun. He was sitting on the couch, slouched back as he held the TV remote in his hand.

"Mornin'," I responded as I made my way to the spot next to him. Just I was about to sit down, the doorbell rang and I cried out in frustration as I straightened my legs and walked towards the front door. Nathan decided to follow me and my mother peeked her head out of her bedroom.

I opened the door to reveal Ryan, standing there impatiently while he was typing something on his phone. He glanced up and then back down at his phone. "I called you a few times," he said, annoyance in his voice and I put my hand to my mouth.

"Oops... my bad," I replied as my eyes widened and I suddenly felt super guilty for not checking my phone. I invited him inside and he continued to type as he made his way to the kitchen table, sitting down in one of the chairs. "I'm sorry. Anyways, what are you doing here?"

"Well, I had my new secretary, dig into some information. I had to resort to the old Isaiah Winchester Ways, but he managed to bring some very, very interesting info on my mother. Turns out, the house I was staying at with my 'grandparents' in Germany back when I was in high school, my mother was actually one of the maids there." There was sadness and regret in his eyes as he stared at his phone screen.

I pulled a chair up next to him and Nathan leaned again the doorway, his arms crossed and the TV remote still in his hand. My mother still had her head poking out of her bedroom.

"God, I wish I somehow recognized her even the slightest bit at that time..." He whispered, before continuing on. "So, she was relocated. There were flights back to America, around the time my father told you he made his move, at the airport nearby. Not too long after, the house was sold."

"You're saying your mother is here in the states?" I asked, finding myself at the edge of my chair. I was all too eager to be getting this information. It had already been a month, and I was already starting to give up hope, but Ryan kept that light shining at the end of my tunnel.

"It is very possible, yes. But, I have no idea where in the states," Ryan answered and I groaned, burying my face in my hands. I rubbed my face for a few seconds before removing my hands and returning them back into my lap.

"Well," I said, scratching the back of my head, "This just got even better, didn't it?" I remarked sarcastically as I got up from my chair. My mother pulled her head back into her bedroom, and I stared at the bare white door, before walking to the refrigerator. I opened it and pulled out a protein shake. I shook it in my hand as I paced around the kitchen kitchen table.

"Perhaps there's a special place you may have been to, that he is keeping your mother at?" Nathan suggested as he finally put the TV remote down on the kitchen counter. Ryan leaned back in the chair as he placed his phone down on the table, the screen facing down.

"Not that I know of," Ryan said as he began to get lost into deep thoughts.

"Maybe Nathan is right," I stated as I twisted the cap off and took a quick swig of the plain chocolate liquid. "We're probably overthinking this. Your father is making this easy for us on purpose," I added.

"And at the end, something bad will probably be waiting for us," Nathan chimed in, and I felt goosebumps travel down my body, and a shiver down my spine.

"Actually, there is a place. I used to go to this cabin all the time in Ruidoso, New Mexico," Ryan informed us. "But, I agree with Nathan, we must proceed with caution."

We all came to a conclusion. "Okay. We'll go to Ruidoso then," I said, as I was about to leave the kitchen. Nathan grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"Where do you think you're going?" Nathan asked and I pulled my arm away from him.

"To pack my things."

"We're not going right away," Ryan said as he stood from his chair. "I must first get Hailey. She may be my half-sister, she still is very dear to me," Ryan told me, making eye contact with me. His gaze held mine intently for a few moments, before Nathan broke it with the clearing of his throat.

"Okay. We'll get you your little sister back. Do you have any idea where she might be?" Nathan asked as he grabbed the TV remote back from the counter. He needed something to hold tightly. He was no longer leaning against the doorframe and instead, was standing up straight with his arms crossed once again.

I wanted to see little Hailey again. I felt bad for abandoning her, but I would do what it takes to get her back. I enjoyed being with her, and making her smile and laugh, and I'll keep the memories with me forever. But, knowing that she is caught up in all of this because of Mr. Winchester and Mrs. Winchester, it really pained me to try to guess how Hailey must be feeling.

"I don't know. All I know is that she is with her mom somewhere," Ryan answered and I sighed. Everything was complicated once again. "I already have my secretary on that. I'm just waiting for the results."

"We'll find her either way, Ryan. Don't worry," I assured Ryan as I laid a hand on his shoulder. I was trying to assure myself. Deep down inside I had a small doubt. Mr. Winchester was too smart, and too evil. Things wouldn't be so easy unless there was something terrible at the end.

I really, really hoped that there wasn't.

Hello everyone! Book 2 of BtBB is now here!!! Yay!!!

I apologize if this was very short. I just wanted a quick introduction of the 2nd book. The 2nd book is going to be how it ends.

I got most of my thoughts together about the ending, so I'll be writing a bit more once again, but I still don't have a clear idea about the updating schedule.

Of course, none of this is edited, so there will be many mistakes, but hopefully once I'm done with both books, I'll be going back and editing and revising.

Thank you once more for all those who waited patiently for more. :)

Love you all! Don't forget to Vote, Comment and Follow!
