Chapter 11: New Home

Time Skip to two weeks later

Laurie's POV:

The day has arrived for me to go to LA. I'm so excited but nervous at the same time. I already packed my things. My furniture is still in my room because the apartment where I'm going to stay with Alexa already has furniture. That's really convinient.

It's finally time to go. I say goodbye to Andre and Allison and promise them to come visit soon.

My mom and dad are going to drop me off at the airport after picking up Alexa. Once we pick her up, we head to the airport. These are the last moments in my hometown.

The excitement grows inside of me. We arrive at the airport. I go out of the car and my father help us with the luggage. I hug my mom and dad.

"Sweetie please take care of yourself, remember to call us, I anything is wrong just tell us." My mom starts panicking. I giggle. "It's going to be fine mom. Promise I'll call." I kiss her cheek and finally say goodbye.

Before we go and check in I hear someone yell my name. I recognise and it's Thomas. "Laurie! Alexa!" He yells running towards us. "Toothpick!" I yell laughing.

"What are you doing here?" Alexa and I ask. "Hey I came to say goodbye one last time." He smiles. We make a group hug.

He takes out his phone and takes a selfie. "I'm going to miss you guys so much." He hugs us again. "And we're going to miss you more." We say goodbye for the last time, check in and heads towards our gate.

While we are waiting to board our plane, I receive an Instagram notification. It's from Thomas. I unlock my phone and see what he posted. It's the picture we took earlier. I show Alexa the pic and she unlocks her phone to check it out.

I double tap and comment. I open snapchat and snap a selfie with Alexa with caption 'gonna miss this place'.

We are then called to board. I enter the plane and my seat is the one near the window. Alexa pouts. I laugh.

Before putting my phone on airplane mode I receive a message from Daniel. I ignore it because I had to put my phone on airplane mode and I wasn't in the mood for answering him right now.

Once we take off, there is an amazing view. I take multiple pictures and Alexa pushes me for her to take a picture as well. I sleep most of the flight. Few minutes before landing, we see a breathtaking view of LA. I take several pictures as well.

As soon as we get off the plane I post the picture of LA on Instagram. The caption was 'Just steped in LA and I'm already in love with this place 😍'. I receive a text from Thomas and Daniel.

I decide to respond later. We get our luggages and we jump in an uber and head to the place my parents rented for us. I open the door and my mouth was wide open.

It's beautiful. It's a flat with four bedrooms, an open kitchen connected to the dinning room and a huge living room. It has a big balcony showing an incredible view of the city.

I am lost in words. And I suppose that Alexa as well as she stands there in shock.

Since she isn't reacting, I take advantage and sprint to the biggest bedroom. "Hey! That's not fair I wasn't ready." Alexa complains.

"Well you should have moved your butt and react faster." I laugh. I explore a bit more the place. I see Alex choose the second largest room. We decide to make like a studio with one of the two remaining bedrooms and the last room a guest room.

I really love this flat. I go in the balcony and stare at the city. Alexa joins me.

"You like it?" I ask her. "Are you kidding me? I fricking love it." She hugs me. I smile. The sun starts to set. I then realisd Alex isn't by my side anymore.

I turn around and see her taking a picture of me. I roll my eyes playfully. "Fricking photographer." She laughs and shows me the picture.

I'm amazed by it. "Wow. That's a pretty dope shot." She nods proudly. It's a picture if the sunset and my back facing the camera. It's beautiful.

She sends me the picture. "Don't forget to give credit huh?" She pokes my side. I smile. As I am about to open Alexa's chat to save the photo, I accidentaly open Daniel's chat.

I facepalm myself mentally. It says 'Hey Laurie. How's everything? I see you're not in Portland.' I sigh and answer. 'Everything's fine. No actually, I'm in LA. Just moved out.' To be honest, I really miss him.

I type 'I miss you' but just as I am about to send it, I erase the text.

I then open Toothpick's chat. 'Hey Kiwi. How's LA? How was the flight?' I quickly respond with 'Hey Toothpick. The flight was good. We got to see an amazing view and LA is beautiful. I really wished you could see'. I quickly got a reply.

'I saw your post on insta and wow it must be amazing. I wish I could too but I can't. I'm really glad you like it there😉 miss you already.' I smile. 'Miss you too'.

Talking about instagram, I open it and post the picture Alexa took for me.

'I can't believe I get to stay in this wonderful city to pursue my dreams. I really am grateful and couldn't ask for anything else to be this happy. Thank you to everybody that helped me to get where I am❤️✨. Pic creds: @imalexaclark'.

I put down my phone and start unpacking my things. I still can't believe what is happening. It's unreal. I wasn't really hungry so once I am done unpacking almost everything, I lay on my bed too lazy to change into other clothes.

I close my eyes shut but then hear my phone go off meaning I just received a message.
