Chapter 35: News

Laurie's POV:

I play with Kong while the others film their music video. I can tell the diss track goes pretty hard on Jake but he deserves it.

As they take a break from shooting, Logan takes out his vlog camera.

"Yo we've been number one on the iTunes pop charts the whole day bro." Jonah says showing his phone to the camera.

I let Kong run to Logan and I jump walking to them. "Wow my song and your EP number one in the same day this can't get any better. What a great day." I squeal jumping and dancing around as Logan films me.

They shoot for some more time when they are called inside the house and they all sit on the couch. Apparently they have an announcement.

Logan hands me his camera and asks me to vlog.

"Okay so we wanna go with Something Different first." The guy starts saying and the boys look confused.

"It's going on the radio right now." He slowly spills the news.

I try to control myself but fail as I start to jump from the excitement and the boys run outside except for Corbyn that is shocked and still didn't process the information.

The way Daniel stood up and ran out was one of the cutest reaction on earth.

I leave the camera on the couch and run out to reach the boys.

I see Daniel with tears in his eyes. I slowly walk to him and give him a tight hug.

"Congratulations." I mumble with a smile in his ear. "You guys deserve it." I say hugging him tighter.

The other boys join in a group hug and then split apart to start running everywhere leaving Daniel that squats and puts his hands on his face.

I smile to myself and leave him thinking that maybe he needs some time alone to 'celebrate' with the others.

I scroll through Instagram and see the posts of some limelights freaking out about their song going on the radio and their EP being number one.

I like a few of them, give a last glance at my phone and then turn it off (turn it off turn it off turn it off keep your eyes on me. Kay I'm done).

I see the boys reunited in a circle and Daniel strumming his guitar.

"What are you guys doing?" I ask curiously. "Oh Kiwi you're just in time. Here watch." Jonah tells me as he makes me stand up in a specific place.

Logan takes out his phone and I can already guess he is filming a mashup for the boys.

Daniel starts playing the guitar and Jonah starts singing "Slide".

I started to get used to the boys singing but I just can't get over it. It's just so beautiful (this actually happens to me I don't know if I'm the only one. Maybe I'm just crazy).

Then Jack comes right after singing the song I least expected.

"There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark.
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful." They harmonise blessing my ears.

Zach continues singing "Something just like this" with an incredible voice.

I just stand there my mouth wide open. I mean please, don't tell me you don't get excited when they do a mashup and imagine if it's with your own song.

As they finish I clap as hard as I can I think I could break my hand.

I run to them.

I take a look at them and Jonah points at Daniel. "It was his idea."
