Chapter 36: Why Don't We Just

Laurie's POV:

The Something Different tour is about to finish and let me start off by saying that this has been one of the most beautiful experiences in my life.

Oh I forgot to mention that the boys wanted me to be their opening act to which I gladly accepted. In every show I had the same euphoric feeling when I performed.

I'm disapointed because touring was soon going to be over. But I'm glad to finally get back home. I'm going to miss this.

Eventually, a lot has happened during this national tour. Mostly good ones. Like for example I went on a date with Daniel in our stay in Portland.

~flashback~

We get out of my mom's car that Daniel was driving and head to a hiking path. I smile to myself.

I love hiking.

And this is my favorite hike in the area. During my childhood I'd always come here to clear my mind.

We climb some rocks and a few hours later of hiking, we arrive to see one of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen in my life.

We sit down and stare at the horizon where the sun starts to make his way up.

"This is beautiful." I comment.

"Not as beautiful as you." Daniel adds staring at me. "The sky is so clear when you're the view." He raises his eyebrows.

"Smooth Seavey but God you can be so cheesy sometimes." I fake a cringe trying to hide my blush.

"But you loooove my cheesiness." He winks at me. I roll my eyes playfully. "You wish."

We just sit there, in each other's arms staring at the sky and enjoying each other's presence.

~end of flashback~

I smile as I remember the memories.

I get knocked out of my daydream by Corbyn talking to me.

"Yo Laurie, you're up." He yells. "I'm coming." I yell back.

This is the last show and the biggest one so far. I'm nervous but excited. I've never performed for a crowd this big.

I tale a deep breath and step on stage. I hear the crowd chanting my name making me automatically smile.

The music starts playing, and I start singing.

"She just wants to be,"

I get off stage satisfied and happier than ever.

It's an incredible feeling listening to the crowd yell out the lyrics of your own song.

I see the five boys and walk to them. "You did great! As usual." Jonah states giving me a hug. "Thank you." I say back.

I notice Daniel being a little nervous but I just pretend like I didn't notice.

I turn around and see Jack. I realise I haven't bothered him the whole day.

"Hey Jack! What's it like being a poodle?" I laugh at him.

He rolls his eyes, turns around and comes back to me. "What's it like being gorgeous?" He smirks. I roll my eyes and laugh.

All of the boys except for Daniel "oos" him. Me and Jack flirt sometimes but he knows I have feelings for Daniel and he doesn't have feelings for me which is chill. It's fun though.

Eben comes and calls the boys to go on stage. I wish the boys luck and hug them. I give Daniel a kiss on the cheek. "You'll do great." I whisper to him causing him to smile.

Jonah goes on stage followed by Jack, Zach, Corbyn and lastly Daniel as "On My Way" starts playing and the crowd goes wild.

The show has gone perfectly good so far only that they didn't sing Why Don't We Just yet which is kinda weird because it's one of the first songs they perform and the show is coming to an end.

"Okay so we have two last songs before ending this amazing tour," Daniel starts off by saying. Two songs? I thought there was only one left. "One of the song was inspired by a girl who I truly love and who I hurt in the past." He pauses.

"Laurie, I'm sorry for everything I've ever done to you in the past, you're one of the most amazing person I've known in my life, you don't deserve anything that happened to you. I regret being the stupid guy that just let you down during American Idol, I regret not fixing things back then." He says looking straight at me in the crowd.

"So everyone," he says looking at the rest of the crowd. "This is Why Don't We Just." As he finishes, the songs starts playing and the crowd goes wild once again.

"I know I've been no one,
You I've been so gone,
I've been missing your phone calls,
But I really didn't mean to." Daniel sings to me.

"You are one of a kind,
You're always on his mind,
He wants to spend all his time.
Cause he's really really into you.
I hope you're really really into him to."
Corbyn sings changing up some lyric making me laugh.

"So, why don't we just love,
Why don't we just love,
Why don't we forget about all of the drama,
All of the odds and the problems.
So we can just chill,
So wavy we spill," Jonah and Zach sing making me slightly dance.

As they finish the song, I sneakily walk to backstage to congratulate them as I thought that was their last song.

"So before ending this show, this last song we are going to perform hasn't been released yet. We aren't going to perform it entirely but just a part to help out Seavey here to ask something." Jonah announces.

"I need a little casual conversation girl with you,
And you ain't gotta worry bout a thing no more,
Cause baby I got the keys for us." Daniel's smooth voice fills my ears.

"How bout I pick you up at nine,
Meet me ouside baby it's a vibe." Jonah sings.

"Roll down the windows we can fly,
I can see the stars baby in your eyes.
And I can't wait no more." Jack continues.

"Cause I like you, you like me,
Let's just get together,
I like you, you like me,
You don't need no invitation girl." Zach sings at the others join him to sing in harmony once again the chorus.

I'm in shock.

As they finish, Daniel walks to me. "Dimples, will you be my girlfriend?" He asks nervous without the mic.

I nod as I feel tears in my eyes. I go to him and hug him. Everyone claps and aw's.

He pulls aways and puts his lips on mine. The crowd roars. I smile through the kiss.

We pull apart. "God I've been wanting to do that forever." He sighs hugging me tighter.

"MY PARENTS!" Zach yells in the microphone and starts dancing.

"DAURIE IS FINALLY REAL YOU GUYSS!" Corbyn jumps up and down screaming like a crazy fangirl.

Jonah and Jack yell as well and the four of them make a circle and start dancing being the crazy people they are. Me and Daniel just laugh.

"I swear I don't know these people." I say in Dan's mic.

I see the limelights with their phone out snapping photos and videos. This is going to be everywhere in the internet.

Daniel pulls me closer once again as we share another short but sweet kiss.

Wow, what a way to ask someone out.
