Chapter 13: Nobody Gotta Know

Laurie's POV:

In the past months I've been hanging out with Logan and other friends I met in these past weeks like Ethan, Dylan and the one and only Liza Koshy. To be honest, I've never expected to meet her or even be friend with her. I guess thanks to her my pun game improved.

A few days ago Alexa confessed to me that she liked Dylan. I was really happy because they both make such a cute couple and I know that Dyl likes Alexa too.

The thing is that they haven't confessed their feelings to each other yet even though they sort of know they share the same feeling. It reminded me of Daniel.

Speaking of Daniel, he's in a band called Why Don't We. I assume they are really good friends with Logan because they appeared in several vlogs of Logan and they look like best friends.

Everytime I would go and hang out with Logan I'll always make sure that the Why Don't We boys don't show up. I'll always make up an excuse to not go or to leave early. It was just because I wasn't ready to confront Daniel. I'm such a fool.

Logan has no idea that Daniel and I know each other. Several months passed and eventually Daniel and I stopped texting and keeping in touch. It wasn't like it surprised me, I know it would happen sooner or later.

Although Logan is like my brother now, my best friend, deep inside me still considers Daniel as my best friend.

I am alone in the apartment and I decide to take a walk around the neighborhood and maybe go to Liza's to hang out. I'm on the phone with Alexa and she's right now stuck in her car in front of Dylan's place.

"Laurie I'm super nervous I don't know why I'm usually very confortable around him. Right now I feel like my legs will just snap." I laugh. "Alexa it's going to be fine. I swear. Trust me, after some minutes into the conversation, you'll gain confidence."

I'm really excited especially today because Dylan told me he might ask Alexa out on a date. I squeal internaly because A was still on the other side of the call. "But what if there's nothing to talk about?" She panics.

I sigh purposely. "Oh I bet he has something to tell you." I smirk. "Like what?" She asks curiously. "You'll see." I smile to myself and end the call. I look at the screen on my phone. The backround is a picture of Daniel and I a couple years ago.

I sigh and quickly shut my phone and put it on my jean pocket. I continue walking and see a boy a little younger than me aproach with a rose. I begin to be confused. He's dressed in a suit.

"Hey um I thought you were really pretty and I wanted to give you a rose." He hands it to me. "Thank you. You're so sweet." I smile. "Um do you mind if I sing to you a song?" I'm a tiny little bit nervous. "Uh sure why not."

Daniel's POV:

We already sang to a couple girls here and there for the shoot of our music video. I'm starting to gain some confidence.

Then Logan gathers us. "Boys. I have a friend that is in that street right around the corner I would like if you could sing to her. You may know her if you saw a couple times my vlogs so Zach prepare yourself get ready to conquer another heart." Logan 'whispers' being the loud person he is.

We sneakyly walk around the corner and take a look at the next girl we are going to serenade. She looks quite familiar. I take a closer look and realise it's Laurie. I start to get nervous.

I haven't talked to her in a long time. It will be the first time I will see her again since we saw each other in school. I take a deep breath. Zach aproaches her.

For some reason I begin to get jealous. Zach sings the first verse, we soon have to enter in action.

Laurie's POV:

"Take the time with me tonight
You should come with me tonight
We could feel the free tonight
Nobody gotta know"

He has a beautiful voice he's really talented. Then four boy dressed just like him come behind him and continue singing.

I gasp and put my hand over my mouth.

"I've been missing I've been crushing on you all night
I should take you to the moon it's a long flight
We should chill me and you if it's alright." The tallest boy sings.

"You should be mi- you should be mine." They all harmonise.

It's beautiful.

"See I've trying to find the right way to say to you
That I would walk a million miles to find my way to you.
And there is no one else that ever could compare to you." A boy with the guitar and sparkling blues eyes sings.

I then realise. It's Daniel. I'm shocked. And I think they all noticed but they continued with the song.

Once they finished, I clap and Logan appears behind them. "Thats muh boiss!" Logan yells approaching us.

"Ugh why do you always have to be so loud." I complain joking. "WhY Do yOu haVe tO Be so LouD." Logan copies me. I playfully slap his arm.

"Well boys, this is Lauren Humbert my annoying wannabe best friend." I roll my eyes at him. "And Laurie they are Corbyn, Jack, Jonah, Zach and Daniel, most known as-" "Why Don't We." I cut him off.

"You know them?" He asks surprised. "Well I never heard their music yet but I do watch your vlogs and I know that little fella over there." I say pointing at Daniel.

"Hey Seavey." I greet. "Hey Laurie." He greets back a bit disapointed. "We went to the same school." I explain. They all nod finally understanding how we know each other.

"Why didn't you tell me this before? You knew I hung out with them for quite a moment now." I shrug.

"Well nice to meet you Laurie." The curly haired boy, Jack, hugs me. "Nice to meet you all too." I hug them one by one finishing with Daniel. "You boys really sing good." I state.

"Thank you." Corbyn says. They all nod. "Well boys we have to sing to other chicks now hurry hurry." Logan whines like a boy. We all laugh.

"Yo Laurie wanna hang out tomorow with us?" Jonah asks. "Sure why not." I respond trying to hide my discomfort.

"Sweet. Um do you mind giving us your number?" Zach asks. "I'm pretty sure Daniel has it right?" Daniel nods. He is very quiet.

"Well I gotta go boys I have to head home and work on some music. Bye Logs!" I say goodbye to all of them and make the handshake with Logan. "See ya! Don't forget to show me some of your songs huh? I want to be the first one. And the one you showed me the other day was lit!" Logan says.

"Thanks and sure." I wink at him. "YAYY!"

He yells catching the attention of some people around us. Gosh he really is very loud.

I turn around and walk quickly to my house. Then it hit me. It's been months since I last saw Daniel.

And now that I crossed paths with him and that he is really good friends with Logan, I'll have to spend time with him.

I didn't really want to but deep inside of me I still have that spark of love towards him.

It's just hard to trust a person once again when he failed you and broke your trust.

It's hard, but not impossible.
