Daniel's POV:

We enter soaking wet from head to toe. I see Laurie talking to the police officer explaining that we came here to visit her father.

She gives him her ID and other information for them to allow her to get inside.

Once she finishes, she pulls me with him and a guard leads us to her father's cell.

Laurie just looks between the metallic bars searching for her father who is hidden in a corner in the dark shadow.

"Well hello. Never thought you would come visit me." He slightly comes out of the dark.

"Well you're my father why wouldn't I. But I didn't just come here to visit. I want to know why. Why you did it." She firmly says being the strong girl she is.

"Why I did that to your mother? To your sister and your brother? Well, I got drunk okay? I fucking got drunk and couldn't control myself." He raises his voice.

"Why were you drunk?" She goes closer to the metallic bars showing him she isn't scared.

He sighs. "Because I got fired okay? The stupid asshat of boss I have just fucking fired me. I got drunk to forget about the stress of keeping my family to have a reasonable life." He starts crying from anger but from sorrow as well.

I can see some tears coming down Laurie's cheeks.

"Dad, drinking isn't the solution to your problems. You know that. You always used to tell me that to keep me from doing bad things." She snifs.

"WELL I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH MY FRICKING MIND LAUREN! I'M GETTING MAD! I'M SLOWLY GOING INSANE!" He yells catching the attention of the police officers.

"I think that's enough." One of them says walking to us. I nod.

"Laurie, darling, let's go." I slowly grab her hand.

She wipes her tears and looks at the dad. "Didn't you even think about how our family is going to suffer? Didn't it go through your mind?" She quietly says.

"Child of mine, I've been thinking about that every single second I've been stuck here. It's killing me with guilt." He wraps his hands around the bars, his voice shaking.

She just stares at him, shakes her head and walks away leaving me there.

He groans madly and looks at me with anger in his eyes.

He reaches his hand out and grabs the collar of my jacket.

"It's your fault. It's all your fault! You forced her to come! You should have never brought her here." He yells to my face.

"She wanted to come here by herself. I didn't force her to come it was her choice. She wanted to see her father who she haven't seen in forever because he didn't show up for her performance during tour. I'm here giving her the support she could have received from her own father. I'm here to help sir. Not to worsen things up." I calmly say freeing from his grip and walking out to reach to Laurie.

I see her on a chair looking staight in front of her.

I lift her chin up. "Come one babe. Let's leave this place." She just nods and grabs my hand.

I push the door open and I drag her in the rain running.

We run some steps and I hear her giggle behind me which causes me to smile.

I stop to carry her in my arms and spin her around. She just happily laughs as I put her down.

I carry her bridal style as we aproach her house.

We lock lips for a good amount of seconds, just as perfect as when we were on our way to her father.

I put her down as we reach her front door.

We are soaking wet, more than before if it's possible.

"Oh god we're going to get sick." She smiles at me twisting her hair that is now down, trying to take out all the water.

"Well we'll take care of each other if we do." I just stare at her smiling.

She rolls her eyes. "We'll see about that."

"Thanks for coming with me. Things would have been worse." She sighs.

"Hey it's okay. I'd do anything for you." I wrap my arms around her waist.

"Oh my you're so cheesy." She laughs before starting leaning in.

We are one inch apart to kiss when Corbyn opens the front door.

"Oh my goooooosh PDA!" He yells running back inside.

I see Laurie roll her eyes and wiping her shoes before entering as I do the same.

"Right. Forgot you dumbies are here." She sighs playfully throwing my soaking jacket she was wearing to Zach. It lands on his head.

"Nooooooooooo my hair!" He complains and starts fake crying.

As I get my coat off, I hug Laurie wrapping my arms aound her back and giving her a kiss on her forehead.

"I love you." I tell her looking in her eyes.

"I love you too." She tells me smiling and hugging me stronger.

Seeing her happy is the highlight of my day. Seeing her sad devastates me.

Although she goes throught hard times, my job is to keep her happy.

We pull away as we hear a chorus of "aws" coming from the boys.

"Our son is growing up." Jack hugs Zach.

"But you two are younger than me." I point out.

"Shush son. Age is just a number." Zach sasses.

We all laugh.
