Laurie's POV:Today I got to sleep a little more than usual because I didn't go to school. Well I just slept 30 minutes more than usual but it makes a difference.
I go down and eat some pancakes my mom made for breakfast. Once I finish, I scroll through social media while waiting for Daniel to arrive.
A few minutes later I hear the door bell ring. I get up fast and say goodbye to my mom. I open the door to reveal Daniel.
"Hey Dimples." "Hey Dan." We hug and I close the door. "Wait let me say hi and goodbye to your mom fast. Is she there?" He asks. I nod. I open the door and he quickly heads inside.
I wait for him outside and greet his mom. "Hey Keri." "Hey Laurie." We hug. I get inside the car and wait for Daniel. He is taking longer than he usually does. I ask Keri if we are in time for the flight because I am worried for Daniel to be late.
After waiting a few minutes he finally comes out of my house. He sits beside me in the car. "What took you so long?" I ask him curiously.
"Oh nothing I just talked with your mom a little." I give him a curious look. "About?" "Nothing really just school stuff and other." I just nod and take out my phone.
I open the camera app and tell Daniel to take a selfie together. We take several pictures some of them smiling, looking serious, making funny faces and with some snapchat filters.
Once we are done with our 'photo session', I look at the pictures. I smile. I show them to Daniel and he laughs at some of them. "Send them to me please?" He asks. "Sure. I'll post them on instagram later." I look back at my phone and check the time. I'm super worried, I don't want Daniel to miss his flight.
He notices I am worried. "Hey Dimples it's fine we are on time." He smiles at me. I sigh. "I know it's just, I'm sorry I always get worried in this type of situations." Daniel chuckles. "You don't have nothing to be sorry for. You look cute when you get worried. Truth is, you look cute in a daily basis no matter what." I smile and blush like crazy.
"You guys are really cute together. I ship it." Her mom tells us from the front seat. I laugh and Daniel does to. "Mom we are best friends."
I laugh trying to hide my disappointment. I mean yeah we are best friends but I kind of want to be more than that.
I shake the thought away and stare outside the window. We arrive to the airport. We are thirty minutes early.
We go to the Starbucks from the airport. Keri didn't want to bother us so she left us alone for a while.
Daniel and I sit down on a table for two. "You excited?" I ask trying to start a conversation. "Oh god yes I really want to go but I don't want to either I'm going to miss you so much. And I'm scared and nervous, I'm going to be by myself and what if I don't make it? What if I get lonely?" I look into his sparkling blue eyes and hold his hand.
"I'm going to miss you too. So much. And don't worry. You're great at making new friends and you'll be accepted in Idol. I know it. You're an awesome singer. And also whenever you get lonely, you can always call me or text me." He smiles.
"You're awesome, I really wished you would come with me." He says disappointed. "Yeah me too but you know I can't do that right?" He nods.
"And Laurie. Whatever happens don't worry I'm only one call away." He winks at me. I giggle. I check the clock and see it was time for Daniel to go.
We get up and head to look for Keri. She is going to accompany him to San Francisco for a couple of days and then come back. It's time to say goodbye. I hug Keri first.
"Bye Keri. I hope you have a nice flight." "Thank you Laurie. How are you going back home?" She asks breaking apart. "Oh my dad is on his way to pick me up." I answer. "Okay then. Take care sweetie." "Sure. Thanks Keri." She picks up her bags and I turn to Daniel.
"So I guess this is goodbye for now." I smile saddly. "I think it is." Daniel sighs. We hug tighly for a long time and when we break apart I see he has a sad expression on his face.
"I'm going to miss you." He hugs me again. I smile. "Me too Dani." "I'll call and text everyday." I giggle. "You don't have to but okay."
"I want to. And I promise I'll text everyday."
I help him get his bags and he passes the door leading to his gate. "I love you." He yells. I laugh. "I love you too." I whisper to myself. I know he doesn't mean it the way I do.
My dad arrives to pick me up. I climb inside the car and check my phone. I see that Daniel tagged me on an instagram post.
I unlock my phone to see it. The picture he posted was taken when we were hugging before he left to catch his flight. I suppose it's taken by his mom.
The caption said 'I'm gonna miss her so much ❤️'. I smile and take a screenshot.
I select the pictures we took earlier in the day. I post them on instagram and tag Daniel. I put as a caption 'I miss you already ❤️'.
Once that was done, I switch off my phone and talk to my dad about random things but mostly about school.
God school is going to be so boring without Daniel being around. He just left half an hour ago but it feels like he is gone for so a lot of time. I sigh. Well, I guess I'm on my own.
