Laurie's POV:

Several months passed since the 'incident' with Daniel and to be honest, I don't know what to feel about what happened. We don't even talk anymore and we just glance at each other on the hallways at school like we've never known each other.

This is partly my fault but it's just hard to forgive him. I sometimes want to fix things up but at the last moment I change opinion.

Let's also mention that Daniel changed. He is not really the same sweet boy I knew before. He became really popular at school because of his success on Idol. He has a new group of friends that are also the popular kind. At some point he began dating the lead cheerleader of the school. I was kind of jealous about it.

They recently broke up though. She dumped him.

I've been working more on some music in secret with only my best friends and family knowing. They supported me so much through all this time I couldn't be more grateful.

I am ending junior school year right now and I'm heading home after a long day of school.

I open the door and the whole house is silent. I wonder why. It's really dark so I switched on the lights. I then see my family, Alexa and Thomas jumping out of nowhere.

"Surprise!" They all shout. I stand there in shock. "What is this for?" I ask confused. They all look at each other and smile.

"Well, we know how hard you worked on your music and how much it means to you so..." My dad starts saying. "So?" I ask with curiosity.

"We thought maybe you could move to LA to pursue your dreams." My mom finishes. My mouth was wide open. "Oh my god. You're kidding right?" They all shake their heads 'no'.

I squeal and jump all over the room. They all laugh. "Thank you thank you thank you thank youuuu." I hug them all.

"But what about school? And the house? And my friends?" I ask looking at them. "Oh it's fine. We'll go to school online." Alexa says.

"We?" I ask raising my eyebrow.

"Oh yeah we forgot to mention. You're moving to LA with Alexa." My brother confesses. "What?" I say in shock. I hug Alexa.

"Well I thought maybe I could try and start an acting career." Oh I forgot to mention but Alexa acted for small roles in movies or TV shows before. She's a great actress.

"But what about Thomas?" I ask quite sad. "Well, my parents don't want me to move and I'm about to apply to a scholarship in England." He finishes. I was upset but really happy. One of my best friends is going to move in with me in LA and the other one is about to apply for a scholarship.

"Oh my god thank you guys so much you're the best." I smile and start tearing up and we all make a group hug.

"All we want is to make you happy." My mom says giving me a kiss on my cheek.

"Well I'm sorry to interrupt but I have to go back to work." My dad says. "Okay dad. And thank you for everything." I thank him giving him a big hug.

"Well now Kiwi, why don't we (see what I did there) go out and celebrate." Tom proposes. Alexa and I agree. I turn to my mom. "Why not? Have fun sweetie." My mom tells. I smile.

"Oh and when are we leaving?" I question. "In two weeks." My mom responds.

"Great. Well, see ya mom." I wave goodbye. "Have fun and be careful." I with that I close the front door and walk to the mall.

"Pinch me or am I dreaming?" I say happily. My dreams are about to come true. I feel someone pinch my arm. It was Toothpick. "Ouch! What was that for?" I ask rubbing my arm.

"But you asked for it." Thomas says innocently. "I didn't really mean it." I roll my eyes. "Well at least I know this isn't a dream." Alexa and I squeal at the same time.

"Jesus guys we are in public don't embarass me." Thomas complains walking behind us. "Please remind me again why am I friends with you." Tom sighs. We laugh.

"Well, you wouldn't have other friends and please, don't complain, we're the best." Alexa gushes. We all laugh.

We walk past the park next to the mall and hear a guitar play nearby. I look around searching for where it comes from and see Daniel sitting on a bench.

I didn't want to see him right now I didn't want to ruin the moment and my happiness. But I decide to be a good friend. We walk pass him.

"Hey Daniel." I say. "Hey Laurie." He says back not expecting me to greet. He can guess that I'm in a really good mood.

It's weird how he is a different person without his 'friends' being around. "See you around." I wave goodbye. Alex, Tom and I enter the mall. "What was that?" Alexa blurts out.

"What was what?" I ask confused. "you, Laurie Humbert talked to Daniel Seavey after not talking for months." Alex says exagerating. I roll my eyes.

"Is there a problem with me greeting my friends when I see them in public?" I ask raising my eyebrow.

"No, there is no problem it's just weird you two acted like strangers for months and remember he hurt you?" Thomas points out.

I sigh. "Yeah I do remember but sometimes all you can do is to keep moving on. Better things happen in life." I say. It's a half-lie because Daniel is one of the best things that ever happened to me.

We hang out in the mall until it's time to go home. We all go our separate ways. I walk and see the empty bench where Daniel was sitting and playing his guitar. I sit and think.

I miss Daniel a lot. But as I said before, I must keep moving on. But something tells me that I'm going to miss him more when I'll move to LA.
