"Papa!! Papa!!" Manolo awoke to the familiar sound of his daughter, he sleepily opened his eyes like a bear waking from winter, his daughter was about 3 inches from his face. "Morning my little dessert flower" he greeted with a smile.
"Come on!! On your feet!!" Manolo placed a hand to his head and gave a tired yawn, he peered out of his bedroom window to see that the sun hadn't even properly risen yet. "The sun isn't even up yet"
"So?....." Thea said questionably, "You promised that you would teach me how to play guitar today!!" Thea crawled her way over to her dad and tried her hardest to force him out of bed, not succeeding much.
"And I will teach you how to play the guitar, at a more reasonable hour...." Thea groaned and turned to her mother "Mom?...." Maria didn't move from her resting position, she had already been awoken by her daughters whining and groaning "You heard your farther Thea.......go back to bed sweetie......"
Thea huffed and crossed her arms on the bed, her dad, had rested his head back down on the pillow and was now slipping back into dream land. Traitor. Thea crawled her way over to him over the blankets and pulled at his black pony tail.
He groaned and turned over to his daughter, she was giving an angry pout at her farther "You promised!!" She kept her angry gaze on her for a whole 2 minutes before he gave a sigh and sat up in his bed "Okay, Okay.....one song, and then your going back to bed, deal?"
Thea gave a bright smile and jumped down from the bed, "okay!!" Thea slipped out of the room and waited for her dad to change into something more suitable other then pyjamas. He came walking out of his room in his black trousers and a simple white button up shirt.
His daughter, was waiting patiently outside. He smiled down at her and picked up his guitar that was leaning by the door. "Come on, best not wake your mother...." Thea nodded with her Dad and the two made their way over to Theas bedroom.
Thea walked over to her bed and clambered on, her farther sat down next to her, he held his guitar in his hands. Thea looked at the beautiful wooden instrument, her farther looked at her wide eyes and couldn't help but chuckle.
"Come on!! Show me the music, show me!!!" Manolo regarded his daughter with a fond smile before he adjusted the guitar in his lap. His fingers flowed over the strings as they played out a harmonious melody, all the while Thea watched intently as her farther seemed so relaxed as the melody continued to play out filling the silence in the room.
"Woooooooooooooooow, teach me teach me!!!" Thea jumped near her Dad, sitting down on his lap and trying her hardest to wrap her small arms around the instrument. "Okay okay, slow down!!" Manolo said as his over excited daughter rushed ahead and strummed at the guitar strings.
"Here, let me show you....." Manolo held his daughters hand and guided it across the different strings, different sounds rang out through the room, each one followed the other and made a melody that flowed like silk.
Thea smiled widely, the one thing she loved the most besides her dad was his music. She could remember being a small baby and her farther always playing a sweet lullaby when she had woken in the middle of the night, crying and wailing. His singing and music has always acted like a remedy to cure her sobs and to always send her back into a deep sleep.
Ever since she had seen her dad play the guitar she had aspired to be just like him, a brilliant guitar player. Not even at a year old and she was already loving the guitar. Now, at the age of 6, she was still aspiring to reach her dream. And her dad did everything he could to help her.
"And done!!" Thea looked up at her Dad "Wait. We just did that hole song!?" Her Dad gave a chuckle and shook his hand "No, you did, see?" Thea looked down at the guitar, only to see her hands on the guitar, she looked at her Dad to see him smiling and resting his hands on his knees.
Thea smiled the most biggest, widest most obnoxious grin he had seen her do. "I did it, I did it, I did it, I did it!!!!!" Thea for up from the bed and ran around her room, skipping like a baby deer in spring. Her dad stood up from the bed, watching his daughters antics.
"I did it!! I did it!! I gotta tell my friends!!!" Thea rushed to her bedroom door, her smile never fading. She was about to run out into the hallway when she felt her farther lift her from the floor. She pouted and looked up at him, "And you can tell them......" Manolo gave what looked to be a smirk at his daughter before he began to lightly tickle her belly.
Thea broke out into a fit off giggled and laughed as she kicked and squirmed "When it isn't still night time..." Manolo stopped his tickling and his daughter gave a slow nod.
"*yawn*......" Thea let out a tired yawn and slowly rubbed her eyes. Manolo saw this and gently ruffeled his daughters brown hair, "And when someone gets a decent nights sleep....."
He walked over to the bed and gently layed Thea down on her bed, pulling the covers over her as she gave out another yawn.
"Dad....." Manolo looked at his daughter "Yes?" Thea fiddled with his fingers, suddenly becoming nervous "Could you sing me one of your songs?......" she asked sheepishly.
Manolo regarded his daughter with a smile before he picked up his guitar, Theas eyes lit up like light bulbs and her dad gave a satisfied chuckle.
As he played out his song, Thea slowly swayed from side to side, hanging onto every note and word that played. Little did she know, that just onto of the roof of their house, 2 very special people were listening.
"It is beautiful is it not?" La Muerte turned to Xibalba, he looked over at her and held her gaze for a brief moment. He turned his gaze back down to the small window on the side of the house, he flew down onto the small balcony and looked through the window, a beautiful scene between farther and daughter was what he saw.
The love in the room almost made the man gag, but he prevented himself as he was in the presence of La Muerte, who wouldn't be very amused if he felt sick over such a lovely thing. "Yeah, I'll give it that......"
He flew back up into the roof next to La Muerte, she smiled over at him and Xibalba couldn't help but smile back at her. "She is going to do great things......" As she finished her sentence she turned her head to Xibalba and fixed him with a somewhat angry glare.
"......and I won't go messing around with her or interfere with her life......." La Muertes glare faded and she flashed a smile, "Thank you....."
