James shyly peeked his head round the side of a bookcase, he had been told by Remmi, who apparently had no idea of the situation that had happened between James and Jewel a few days ago, had told him that Jewel was in the castle library.
He had found her sleeping at one of the tables, a pile of books and scrolls at her side and a few fallen on the floor, James assumed that they must have been some books that her parents gave her to study over for when she took over the land of remembered.
James inhaled and then exhaled
'Okay, you can do this James!! Just walk up here and tell her, not a problem!!'
James smiled, determined to get this whole thing sorted by the end of the day. He looks over at Jewel and her sleeping form, her chest peacefully falling and rising.
"I CANT DO THIS!!!" James ducked back behind the book case and earned a raised brow from Nicholas "SSHH!!!" James slapped a hand to his mouth "Mhm." James slowly looked back behind the book shelf, Jewel was still asleep and thankfully hadn't been awoken by James's outburst
"Do you think he'll finally tell her?"
James jolted and turned his head to behind him, just in time to see a familiar red haired girl shove her head back into the book she was holding, along with a blue haired and grey haired boy.
James raised a bold brow and sighed, just like Charlotte to come and spy on him. He walked over to the table and lowered Charlottes book with one finger. She looked up at him and nervously giggled "Um...wanna read with us?"
James groaned "What are you guys doing here?!" He whispered sharply at them "Duh.." Charlotte pointed to Jewel "Because we finally wanna see you confess your feelings!!" James jolted and blushed a furious red "Charlotte SSHH!!!" He slapped a hand over her mouth
"Someone may hear you!!" Rubix stiffened a laugh, earning a glare from James. Charlotte rolled her eyes and pushed James hand away "Why so nervous all of a sudden? We've all known you've been digging on my cousin since you were a kid."
James blushed and scratched his neck, feeling uncomfortable with the situation. Charlotte chuckled "Just tell her James!! You're always saying that you'll confess to her!!" She stood from her chair and pointed with both hands to Jewel "Nows your chance!!!"
James looked over at Jewel, just looking at her made the heat rise more to his cheeks "I-I don't know.." he quickly looked towards the books in a futile attempt to change the subject "H-Hey here's an idea, we drop the idea of f-feelings and, talk about books!! Sound fun?"
He smiled hopefully, maybe try would agree and he would be able to wriggle his way out of the situation, no such luck. His attempt, didn't persuade the three of them, Rubix lightly tapped his shoulder, earning his attention as he gazed towards them.
'You shouldn't be nervous James, you'll never know unless you try.'
James groaned and pleaded his head in his hand, blushing madly in embarrassment, the mere thought of him confessing his feelings made him sick inside, what is she didn't feel the same? What if she laughed at him?!
"U-Um..." Quintin nervously stuttered "M-Maybe you could w-write a letter?..." he suggested with a small smile "I-Its what I-I-I would do.." James hummed and tapped his chin, "That's....actually not a bad idea." James smiled and placed a thankful hand on Quintins shoulder
"Thank you Quintin!!" Quitin smiled "I-Its nothing..." James turned to Charlotte "Charlotte, you couldn't spare an envelope could you?" Charlotte hummed "Lets see..." she detached her skull from her body with a
POP
she placed her head on he table as she used her hands to rummage through her thick red locks of hair "Im sure I've got somethin' in here!!!" She stuck her tongue out to the side as she searched, Rubix and the others waiting patiently, they had all given up to figure out the science behind Charlottes void of hair that seemed to hold everything!!
"AHA!!!" Charlotte pulled out a pen, a piece of paper and an envelope, she smiled and placed her head back on her neck. "Knew I had one in there!!" She handed James the equipment as he began to scribble the pen over the paper, he would occasionally stop and tap the pen to his chin thinking of what to write next until he would began writing again.
Charlotte tried desperately hard to see past Rubixs hand that was keeping her at bay, when James had finished he smiled and placed the letter in the envelope, closing it slightly and standing from the seat. He held the letter in both hands, looking at it briefly before he gave out a sigh, blush dusting his cheek bones.
"You got this James!!!" Charlotte squealed and she playfully punched his shoulder, Rubix nodded along while Quintin gave a respectable thumbs up. James sighed, tucking the letter into his pocket and walking his way over towards the table Jewel was still sleeping at.
He stopped momentarily before he gently placed the letter next to her, he looked left, then right. "Okay, here goes nothing." He flicked Jewels skull and jumped behind the bookcase as Jewel awoke with a jolt. "H-Huh?!"
Jewel blinked and rubbed her eye sockets, "Huh?" She looked down at the letter, she hadn't seen the letter there when she came here "Where'd this letter come from?"
She picked it up and was surprised when she saw her name written on the front. She rose a brow and opened up the envelope and took out the letter inside "Wonder who left this here?" She unfolded the envelope and read over what it said, her eyes widened as she began to reach the end
'Dear Jewel
I don't want to alarm you or anything; so I'm just going to tell you that it's me, your friend James.
I had to write you this because I'm too shy to tell you in person.
You are an amazing friend and I like you, I like you a lot...more then a friend I mean.
I'm sorry, I'm very bad at this, I just don't want to take too much of your time.So...do you want to be my girlfriend?
Your truly, James.'
