"Honestly, I've never seen James so happy about a book!!" Charlotte laid on her back on a nearly set bed. The bed belonged to her friend Quintin who was sitting by his open window counting the clouds as they sailed by

"You should've have seen his face!! It lit up like a christmas tree!!" Charlotte chuckled lightly thinking back on how happy James had looked when they had finally gotten to the local library and how he drowned on and on about one simple book.

She smiled and leaned back into the comfy cushion on the bed, crossing one leg over the other. She turned over to her best friend, who was still staring out of his window. What he was staring at so intently Charlotte didn't know but it must have been interesting.

"Quintin?" Quintin jolted suddenly in his chair, he whirled his head to Charlotte, he had been so focused on the clouds that he had completely forgotten that his friend was there, and his manners. "S-Sorry.."

Charlotte raised her hand and sat upwards "Its nothing, I was the one that sacred you!!" She reassured him and Quintin began to calm down a little, with his anxieties and endless fears he was startled easily and often found embarrassment when he got scared

"But now that you're listening, can I ask a question?" Quintin rose a brow "Um...sure, what is it?"

"Why didn't you come with us today?"

There was silence for a moment, the rustling of winter leaves was the only sound that could be heard. "O-Oh..well, um.." Quintin frantically leapt to his desk, grabbing an arm full of messy papers

"I-I just had..um, lots of work!!" It was Charlotte's turn to raise a brow, she looked at the papers in his arms and then up at him "Quintin your a mechanic, and half the time your in your room."

Quintin looked off to the side slightly "Y-Yeah well, I-I just um-want to study up on mechanics!!! R-Refresh my memory." Charlotte got up from the bed as Quintin gave her an uncertain smile.

"But, that's just plain paper" on closer inspection the paper didn't half the paper that did have writing didn't even have anything to do with mechanics. Half of it she didn't even know what it was, she went to question her friend further-

ACHOO

Charlotte pulled back violently at her friend letting out a large sneeze that sent the paper flying all over the room and falling to the floor. Charlotte looked briefly at the papers and then looked up to her friend

His eyes suddenly red and puffy and his nose and face red, he wiped his sleeve over his nose with a sniff and then quickly went to retrieve his papers. Although many people viewed Charlotte as a little loopy her knowledge of her friend had only grown more acute over the years.

"Quintin let me check your temperature."

"What do you m-"

"Now Quintin."

At her demand Quintin slowly got to his feet and walked up to his friend, Charlotte held a hand to his fore head, her brows rose slightly and she slowly looked Quintin in the eye "You have a fever, don't you?"

Quintin sighed and rubbed at his head, the heat making him dizzy "Y-Yes..." he blushed, feeling embarrassed and ashamed for not telling her sooner. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I d-didn't want you to worry...." he gave a small smile, taking his hat off his head and moving his grey soft hair away from his face "I know y-you worry but, you know me, I-I always get s-"

Quintin stopped himself and turned to his friend, Charlotte had stopped listening immediately and had opened his draws and began to dig through his clothes, "Here, hold this." She handed him a lose and baggy shirt that may have been a size too large for him
