-Pidge's POV-

"I have Slav!" Shiro and Lance reported in sync. I raised an eyebrow. "Uh, guys, there's only one Slav." I muttered into the headset. "I have Slav!" Lance said, "No, I have Slav!" Shiro argued. I rolled my eyes. "We'll just have to get them BOTH out of here. I'll guide you through the floors, okay-" I yelped as the doors swung open, a sentinel walking in. I swiped the computer clear and dove under the desk. "Pidge?" Lance asked, voice quiet, "You there?" I grimaced as a Galra sank into the seat at the desk, blocking my exit. "Looks like we're on our own, Lance." Shiro sighed. I curled up into the corner as I avoided the legs that inched closer to me as the Galra commander dragged his chair closer to the computer. "Find them!" The Galra commander growled, typing furiously at his keyboard. I heard yelling from Shiro over the com, and I shut his line off.

If he was any louder, he'd blow my cover.

Lance's line was unusually quiet. I sighed as I stared into the dark, waiting for the Commander to leave so I could get the the quiznak out of here. I heard Lance through my com, and I listened in on what he was talking about. "Well, if you're going to be a part of the team, I should tell you a little bit about us." Lance said, his voice slightly grainy. That peaked my interest. What would he say about us?

"Pidge is the tech wizard of the group, and our resident hacker. Shiro is our awesome leader, and Hunk is our mechanic, master chef, and just a pretty cool guy to be around." Lance laughed, " Keith is always flying into asteroids and cool junk like that. And me? I thought I was the team's sharpshooter, but I guess no one else thinks that." My eyes widened. What? "Yup." The yupper replied. "Hey! Don't be so quick to judge!" Lance sighed, "I mean, they wouldn't keep me on the team if I didn't contribute in some way, right?" Lance's voice quieted. "Yup." Lance's voice wavered. "I guess I'm the fifth wheel," he whispered, "Seventh if you count Coran and Allura. That's a horrible wheel to be." "Yup." Lance thinks he's a seventh wheel? He thinks he's useless? Where is this coming from? My thoughts were a whirlwind. I heard a sad laugh. "Anyway, we should really get going." Lance stated, "We've got more important matters to attend to."

I snapped back to my senses as the Galra Commander shot to his feet, running out of the doors. "Watch the station!" He shouted, "I've got an eye on the prisoners!" I activated my Bayard and rolled out from under the desk, flinging my Bayard at the soldier, bringing him down with a shock of electricity. I scrambled to the computer, pulling up the maps of the prison. I turned Shiro's line back on and spoke quickly. "Guys, I'm back." There were shouts of joy. "Thank quiznak!" Lance cheered, "Help us out, would ya'?" I scanned the maps, eyes widening. "Shiro, you got trouble. The warden is coming your way!" I grabbed my Bayard and erased the map from the computer bank. "I'm coming your way," I breathed, "Meet me at the Blue Lion." I heard a growl from Lance. "I'm on my way Shiro." A roar echoed through the com. "Uh, Lance?" I asked, whipping around a corner. "Huh?" His voice was light and airy. "What's that noise?" Lance laughed, "Oh, well it turns out the prisoner I rescued is like a dog, so-" his line cut off. "L-Lance?" I asked, making a turn around the final corner. I froze. The warden had Slav in his grasp, Shiro was fighting the sentinels. I saw a flash of blue, and a laser slammed into the warden's arm, releasing Slav and sending the mechanical arm tumbling to the floor. I looked up to the ceiling to find Lance standing on a beam, Bayard in hand, grinning.

He had made that shot?

"Way to go, Lance!" I cheered, shocked. Shiro's face was one of disbelief. "Nice shot, Lance." Shiro nodded. Lance's eyes grew wide. "Wait, seriously?" He gasped. I flinched. Was he really so surprised to receive a compliment? Lance jumped off the beam, using his jetpack to slow his decent. "Slav! Let's go!' Shiro yelled, grabbing him and taking off across the hangar. I followed suit, Lance taking the rear. I spotted a glimpse of movement out of the corner of my eye, and Lance's eyes widened. "SHIRO!" He yelled, racing past me and shoving Shiro to the ground, a purple beam hitting him straight in the abdomen, sending Lance flying across the room. "LANCE!" Shiro yelled, jumping to his feet and rushing towards Lance. I stood in place, paraylzed.
