-Keith's POV-

I stormed into the control room, slamming my helmet on the table, sending it tumbling to the ground. "Keith?" Shiro asked cautiously, walking through the door. "He's gone." I growled,

"Lance is gone."

My breathing was heavy. "He sacrificed himself to get us out. And-And now he's gone." My voice was hollow. Pidge skipped through the door, smiling. "Hey guys, what's-" She froze as she saw me shaking. "Keith?" She asked. I tightened my grip on the table. Hunk, Allura, and Coran silently walked in. "What is the matter, Keith?" I took a shaky breath. "Allura, play the feed from my helmet on the screen." Allura paused before hooking the feed up.

"Play it."

I whispered. She hit play. "KEITH!" Lance's panicked voice echoed over the audio. "Lance?" I growled, "Where are you?" "I need help!" His voice wavered. "I managed to hold off Lotor long enough to get everyone else out, but he's got me cornered!" I gasped. "WHAT!?" I shouted, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN LOTOR'S CORNERED YOU?!" Lance's breathing was heavy. "He was after Pidge and Hunk, and I-I couldn't let them get hurt." Silence. "Lance, where are you?" My voice was shaking slightly. "HELP!" Lance yelled, "HELP!" I squeezed my eyes shut as I relived the memory. "HEELPPPPPPP!" Lance screamed, and an explosion echoed over the audio.

It ended.

Allura was pale, and Hunk was shaking, eyes filled to the brim with unshed tears. "L-Lance?" Shiro muttered. I turned away, eyes wide. "We need to find him." I growled, "We need to get him back." Hunk nodded. "We need to get Lance back."

-Keith's POV-

It's been 3 days since Lance has been taken. We were all gathered around the controls in the hangar, searching for any hints as to whether Lance was okay. A sudden crackle filled the room, and a screen popped up. "Ah, Paladins." A sly voice chuckled, "How nice to see you." The screen cleared of static, and a face filled the screen. "Lotor." I growled. He smirked. "Ah yes. I just wanted to give you a little show," He laughed, "I believe I have something that belongs to you." Lotor stepped off to the side, and my eyes grew wide.

"Lance?"

Lance was tied to a chair, his eye ringed with black and blue, blood smeared across his face. He was breathing heavily. "G-Guys?" He rasped, wincing as his chest rattled with every breath. "LANCE!" I yelled, "GIVE HIM BACK!" Lotor smirked. "Oh no, my dear Paladins. I haven't come to strike a negotiation with you." Lotor laughed, "But make you watch as I break him. Heroes," Lotor clicked his tongue, "Always have a tragic ending." Hunk flinched. Shiro's hands curled into fists. Lotor sauntered over to Lance, gripping him by his hair. "Now, Blue Paladin. Won't you tell me where your little friends are located?" Lotor purred, sharp nails trailing down Lance's face. Lance didn't respond, staring straight forwards. "Very well." Lotor sighed, "The hard way." Lotor grinned as he plunged his blade into Lance's leg. Lance's eyes widened, but he didn't react, breathing steadily.

"Oh my god."

Allura's voice wavered dangerously. My chest tightened, and I stepped forwards, eyes staring into Lance's on the screen. "My, my." Lotor breathed, "You're a strong one. Interesting." Lotor leaned into Lance's face, grinning. "Why is that?" Lance didn't answer, eyes dulling. "You sacrificed yourself for your team," Lotor mused, "You survive an explosion from a bomb," Lotor circled Lance, "And you are tortured, yet you say nothing. Why?" Lance laughed. "I'd give myself up for my team a million times over." He sighed. "They're this universe's only hope." My eyes widened, and Pidge gasped.

What did he mean?

Lotor shrugged. "You're also a part of Voltron. You are, as you put it, the universe's only hope." Lance shook his head. "I'm not going to tell you anything." He growled, "So get on with it." Lotor grinned, "Oh, we're just warming up." Lance closed his eyes as Haggar walked into the room. "Ah, this is the Paladin we are going to snap." She grinned, "Interesting." I was shaking in fury, and Shiro was glaring at Lotor with a look of pure hatred. Haggar glanced at the screen. "Ah, I see we have an audience." She grinned, "This is going to be an example to those who defy the Galra Reign." Haggar took her place behind Lance, and rested her hands on his head.

"This might hurt, Paladin."

Haggar cackled as her eyes glowed brightly, and Lance froze. "No." He gasped, "N-No. Stop!" Lance's voice cracked. Lance curled his hands into fists, and his jaw clenched. "STOP IT!" Pidge screamed, "LET HIM GO!" Haggar's hands glowed bright with dark energy, and Lance's back arched as electricity zipped through his armor. Haggar grinned. "I'm n-never," Lance gasped, "Going to tell you anything." Lance's body slumped forwards as Haggar released him from her grip. "Wrong move." She growled, dragging her nails down Lance's face, leaving 5 bloody marks on his face.

"I'm going to kill that-"

I seethed, trembling with rage. Lotor only laughed. "Oh, Red Paladin. You wish." He grinned, "But we have more important matters to attend to, such as draining information out of 'Lance'." He mocked, whirling around to face the bloody figure in the chair. "Just tell me your teammates weaknesses, and we'll stop." Lotor's voice was smooth.

"I'd rather die."

Lance snarled. Lotor's eyes narrowed. "Turn it on." He growled, and Haggar's fingers glided over a button, easing it down. Lance flinched, and his chair lit up with electricity. "L-Lance?" Hunk whimpered, shaking. "Argh." A pained sound escaped from Lance's lips. Shiro tensed, and his hand was glowing brightly. "Lotor, stop." He growled, "Maybe we can make a deal." Lance shook his head on the screen. "D-Don't you dare, Shiro." He gasped,

"I'm not worth it."

I froze. Lance sat up straight through the pain, and he closed his eyes. Haggar stopped the electricity. "This does not seem to be effective on the Blue Paladin." She growled. Lotor frowned. "We'll send him to the Druids. Maybe they can forcibly extract information from his mind." Lotor smirked, wheeling around and nailing Lance in the gut, causing Lance to double over and cough out a dark substance.

Blood.

Pidge flinched, clinging to Hunk as Lance coughed, blood trailing down his chin.

"Ouch," he groaned, "That'll leave a mark." Lotor narrowed his eyes. "I'd utilize that attitude, Paladin, for once we break your spirit, you won't have any left in your body." He spat. Lance tensed before laughing. "As long as they're safe." His eyes met mine, "Then you can break my spirit as much as you want." My hands curled into fists, "DAMMIT, LANCE!" I yelled, "WORRY ABOUT YOURSELF!" Lance only smiled.

"Try and rescue me, hmm?"

And the screen cut off.
