Liz Collins

The sun in the cold weather is shining brightly through my bedroom window. I slowly wake up, feeling a bit chilly. I take a quick glance at the small black alarm clock I have on my nightstand and see that it's 8am. I quickly get up and briefly make my bed before going into the bathroom and take a warm shower. Afterwards, I change into a cozy white hoodie and my usual pair of blue jeans, wearing my Havanias flip flops then go downstairs.

"Good morning!" I greeted everyone I saw in the house when I was making my way to the kitchen.

"Liz, good morning!" Sally greeted me then turned back to her cooking.

"Good morning and Merry Christmas, Sally!" I spoke and went to help her with our breakfast today which was sandwiches.

We finally finished making chicken sandwiches and tuna sandwiches while I went up to call Tori for breakfast.

I knocked and she told me to come in and later I entered the room, I saw that she was stretching.

"Hey, Merry Christmas! Breakfast is ready." I briefly informed her and she also greeted me the same thing and we went down for breakfast.

"It's Christmas today. What do you think we should do before we go to the Parkinsons?" Tori was taking a bite from her chicken sandwich.

"Can we stay in the house? It's very cold outside." I requested as she nodded in return.

"Oh! Can we go to the dance room? I want to dance since it has been awhile." She pleaded with her puppy eyes and I perfectly know if I agree, we will surely be dancing to K-pop songs since they always have choreographies in their songs. Plus, to be definitely honest, they aren't easy as they look.

"Fine!" Then I remembered something. The gifts!

I hurriedly went upstairs and brought the gifts for everyone in the house. I then walked in the living room, seeing that Tori was sitting there, reading newspaper. I then gave my last gift to Tori when I had taken a seat near her.

"Merry Christmas, Tor! Thanks for everything!" I genuinely and happily gave her the gift.

"Wait... Is that the bag I saw you were holding while we went shopping for our outfit?" She squinted her eyebrows as if she clearly remembered the bag.

"Yeah!" I smiled sheepishly at her, knowing the word 'Busted'.

"You lied to me that it was just something you bought." She carefully unsealed the bag and then took out a black stylish box that had the logo "Gucci" on it. She opened the box and grin from ear-to-ear.

"Wow..... Thank you, Liz! I really like this blouse, but didn't have time to check it out. The belt, too." Tori exclaimed happily.

"I'm glad you like it." I smiled at her then she quickly put everything back.

"Wait!" She instructed as she took her gift and went upstairs. After a few minutes, I heard Tori called me to come to her bedroom.

"Here!" She smiled softly, handing me a fairly old and small box with small flowers, carved on the edge and a heart in the middle.

"What is it?" I asked her, squinting my eyes.

"Come on. Open it." She smiled at me warmly. I cautiously lifted the cover, not wanting to damage anything.

My eyes completely widened to their extent as I saw what was inside.

"N-No.... It can't be..." My eyes are on the verge of tears and I'm trying to keep myself under control, not wanting to breakdown anytime soon.
