Liz Collins
"What's wrong?" Tori asked me when she saw me walking back and forth in the room.
"I can't do this..." I sighed.
"What?"
"I don't think being his date is a good thing..." I spoke nervously, biting my lips and going back and forth.
"You said you're fine with it." Tori turned to me in confusion.
"Well... To be honest, I'm not fine now." I stated honestly. "What would they think, huh? I'm just his assistant and all of a sudden I'm his date?!"
"It's possible you know..."
"This is ridiculous! Why did I even instantly agree to this?" I threw my hands in the air and took deep breaths.
"Let's just get going. We're already late." Tori stood up and walked out. I already had my natural hair back and plus, I don't even have to wear contacts. It's some kind of a masked ball, so we have our masks on.
"Where are they?" Tori mumbled while we were walking through the crowd on the red carpet.
"Uh... Tor, why are they staring at us?" I whispered to her due to the fact that
many pairs of eyes were directed towards the two of us.
"I don't know." She smiled and we kept walking through a crowd of elites and classy people in search of the three guys.
"I think they're busy talking to other people here. Let's just go and have a drink." Tori said. I nodded, still feeling weird when there are some people looking.
We were talking to each other and drinking when a guy came and spoke to us, specifically Tori.
"Hello. I'm Jay Arthur." He smiled dashingly. He is a pretty handsome guy to be honest. I'm sure he's hitting on Tori. "What's your name, beautiful?"
"That's none of your business, Arthur."
O.o Yikes!
Jack came and put his arm around Tori's waist then pulled her closer to him, placing a kiss on the top of her head.
"Why?" Wow, he's so brave to stand up against Jack. Other guys would be running for their lives right now if they dared to hit on Tori.
"You don't need to know why. Don't interact with these girls or else I will cancel all of my orders in a minute." Jack was dead serious and he meant it.
"N-No. Don't d-do that. I-I won't interact with them. I-I have to go." He stuttered and excused himself.
I took back my words about him.
"Hey!" Tori elbowed Jack, making him release her instantly. "What did you do that for?"
"From now on, you're with me, little idiot." Jack smirked and took her with him while Tori was protesting. I smiled at the cute couple.
I was standing alone, sometimes talking to some people, but most of the time, alone.
Where is Sam?
Don't think about him, will you? Why is my mind wondering about that annoying handsome jerk? Wait.. Did I just say handsome?! No. I meant opposite of handsome.
Did I just have an internal war in my head?! Ugh... He better stops messing...
I have already met Jack and Asher, but Sam... I have no trace of him. Asher said that he was discussing and making deals with loads of people here, so he's pretty busy tonight.
In addition, this is a big celebration. There's no way I can find someone easily. And don't even forget that I'm in heels. My toes are killing me right now.
Why do they have to design high heels? They are very difficult to walk in. I wonder why they don't let us wear sandals or tops or possibly flip flops to a party. It's just shoes. Also, sometimes the dress reaches the ground and covers our shoes, so why bother wearing fancy shoes when they're not even seen?
I should better stop asking questions in my head. It really drives me crazy sometimes, but that's my hobby when I'm doing nothing. Sitting around and having a debate with myself.
"Hello!" A guy with a gray mask came and sat next to me with his hands holding a glass of I supposed which was cocktail.
"Uh... Hi." I turned to him, giving a small smile in order not to be rude.
"I'm Riley. May I know who you are?" He said with a charming smile. He looks pretty young. About my age I think.
"I'm Liz." I gave a sly smile while trying to escape from being flirted. He looks like a nice guy, but....
"Would you like to have a drink?" He asked me as I was watching everyone.
"N-No thanks." He nodded and opened his mouth about to say something when his phone rang.
"Excuse me." I gave a small nod and took a sigh.
The music started playing and people began to dance. I was looking at them and admiring everyone.
I was so deep in my thoughts, not noticing a presence near me. I turned to look at him.
"May I have this dance?" He looks quite similar to Sam.
"S-Sure." I don't know why I agree to do this. Something about him seems so similar.
We started dancing in the middle of the crowd with some couples besides us.
None of us were speaking, several people were staring at us and it was very uncomfortable for me.
"Who are they?"
"Who is she?" Some people were whispering, but I just pretended that I heard nothing.
"You're eyes, they're beautiful." He smiled and I was caught off guard. I'm quite pessimistic sometimes. When they mention about my eyes, I'm always afraid that they might notice something.
"T-Thanks." I stuttered. There's just something about him. I can't seem to figure it out.
The song is coming to an end, but before it ends, he asks me something.
"What's your name?"
"L-Liz Collins." I managed to answer even though I felt something churned in my stomach.
"What's yours?" I asked him back, so that it wouldn't sound rude or anti-social.
"Isn't that Samuel Parkinson?" Someone uttered loudly a few meters from us.
The guy I was dancing with stepped closer to me and leaned to my ears while I was looking up and saw the person I have wanted to see in this evening.
"You already know. You look exactly the same as Janet. You're still beautiful and lovely as always. I will see you soon, my princess... Lily." He spoke with a smirk while my eyes were staring at Sam who was looking straight back at us coldly. My trembling hands dropped from Carson's shoulders in fear and shock while my body was frozen and my legs were shaking horribly.
