Liz Collins
"Liz, what happened yesterday?" Tori kept asking me about yesterday's incident and I am not going to tell anyone, not now.
"Liz Collins! Tell me!" She demanded with a groan.
"Nothing happened, Tor. I was just not feeling well."
"I still don't believe you."
"Can we just go now? I don't want us to be late again." I don't want to think of this again. It is going to be very awkward and uncomfortable when I talk to Sam.
"FINE!" She was pouting and I was still sullen and blankly speaking.
"OK then." We walked to the car and my mind kept replaying the unexpected scene yesterday.
Everything today with Sam is a whole lot of avoiding each other and a meager amount of interaction possible. If we were hanging out with Tori or the guys, there would be absolute silence between us and neither of us dared to speak to one another.
I'm nearly done with my work and all I need to do is hand in every document to Sam and go home without a single word being mentioned about yesterday.
I knocked on the familiar big wooden door with a feeling of nervousness.
It will only take a few minutes then you're off from this, Liz.
"Here's the file." I blankly said to him while handing him the paper and the USB. I was about to leave, but...
"Liz, can we talk?" His voice was full of deep seriousness and I know I couldn't protest.
"Sure." I plainly replied and walked up to him.
"Look, about yesterday... I wanted to let you know that whatever it is you're having in mind, it is just a-"
"Let's forget about it. I'm sure it was just an anger you took out on me." That's the statement I spoke to him, but it's not what I meant to say. It came out normal and fine as if the whole thing didn't happen. "It never happens."
"It's-"
"I should get going and rest. We have a flight to Bangkok tomorrow. You should rest, too." I half smiled at him even though that smile was somehow forced. "Good night."
I have never imagined that I could be like this. I'm not going to let Sam mess with my emotions again. I can't fall for the second time and put that person in danger because I find out that the guy I used to love has destroyed the trust I have in every individual I meet and I'm not going to let this happen.
It's more than enough for me to suffer losing my family to the guy whom I thought I could be depended on. I can't make any mistake again.
"Tori, you can go home first. I need to finish my work." I lied to Tori because I need to go and chill out.
"Are you sure you're going to be okay going back home-"
"Tor, don't you worry about me. I will be there as soon as I finish."
"...Ok..." She didn't seem to really agree.
"No need to ask Sam, he's busy."
"Alright." She sighed. "Come home safely after you've finished everything."
"I will."
I still have an hour to spare, so I decided to ask Sophia if she could accompany me.
"Hey, what's up?" Sophia came to me after I asked her over the phone.
"Nothing really. I'm just a bit stressed I guess." I was lying, but I think it's a bit true though.
"So... What do you want to do?"
