In these several weeks, I have been traveling to several countries with Sam and it's a new experience for me. Sam did ask me about my new look.
"What happened to your eyes? I thought they were green, not brown." Sam asked me curiously when we were riding in his private plane.
"Oh... Those green eyes are just contacts. My real ones are brown." I came up with a lie. The opposite was the truth.
"So, you're wearing glasses now?" He asks me.
"Yeah. Wearing contacts irritates my eyes." Another lie...
"Oh. OK." He shrugged and continued reading the news. Well... Glad that came out as convincing as I thought.
Alex and Sophia's wedding was amazing and memorable. They are perfect for each other and I couldn't ask for anything else. As for Tori, she's usually with Jack and that isn't a problem for me. I'm happy for these two.
It's Valentine's Day today and I know I'm going to stay in the house with nothing to do.
"Don't you have any plans?" Tori asked me as I was staring at the ceiling. This is so boring...
"No." I groaned.
"How about you go somewhere with Sam?" She suggested while getting ready for her date with Jack.
"He's in Singapore with his dad."
"Asher?"
"Helping Tina with her assignments." I literally have nothing to do.
"Alex and Sophia are probably on a date, too." She said. "Edward?"
"He's busy training the athletes."
"How about Rick? You can give him a call to hang out. It's been awhile since you meet him." Tori suggested and I thought about it.
"Maybe I will." I nodded. The bell rang and Jack came in with a bunch of red roses which was totally for Tori. He greeted me and they went out.
I spent an hour doing nothing and I couldn't stand it anymore, so I decided to give Rick a call.
"Hello, tigress." Rick greeted me with a laugh. "Long time no see."
"Hey! Don't call me that." I rolled my eyes even though he couldn't see. "Just because I beat you in a sparring match, doesn't mean I'm a tiger."
"OK OK. Why did you call?"
"Uh... You wanna hang out? It's been awhile." Well... That came out smooth.
"Why not? I miss this tigress, too." He chuckled as I grunted. "Be there in 20mins."
"Yeah." I ended the call and went to get changed. Rick is three years older than me and we hang out like friends. He usually teases me a lot by calling me a tigress just because of a match.
"Where do you want to go?" I asked him. "Wait... You're single, right?! Because I don't want any girlfriend came lashing out on me."
"Hahaha.... Yes. I'm single. Why don't we consider today as a friendly date?" He laughed. The thing I like about Rick is that he can understand me and we share the same sense of humor.
"Why not? How about the amusement park?" I asked him.
"Sure!" I put on my glasses and was ready to go.
We were going on thrilling rides and having fun for hours. The day was great and we were walking on the pavement, talking and joking around after we had dinner. Rick went to the bathroom and I was waiting for him outside.
"Oh! Hey, Liz." Sandra, Mark and Clover came and greeted me.
"Oh! Hello!" I greeted them back.
"Who are you here with?" Clover asked me.
"I'm here with-"
"Hi, I'm Rick. And I'm here with Liz." Rick came and put his arms around my shoulders.
"Oh, hello, I'm Clover and this is Mark and Sandra. We're Liz's colleagues. You must be her Valentine." Clover said.
"Uh... I'm not-" I was interrupted.
"Yeah. Nice to meet you." Rick smiled and I looked at him in disbelief while he was gesturing me to play along.
"We got to go. We don't want to interrupt your date. It's nice meeting you, Rick." Mark looked at his watch and spoke.
"Me too."
"Bye." I waved at them and nudged Rick afterwards.
"What?!" He laughed.
"Nice move." I rolled my eyes. "I'm going to be interrogated tomorrow."
"I was just joking around." He laughed and I couldn't be mad at him either. We were hanging around and playing games there for several hours then he took me home.
"It was fun. Thanks for today, Rick."
"Anytime, tigress." He said quickly and rushed off to his car before a punch could reach him in the face.
"This guy..." I mumbled and went back into the house.
"You had fun?" Tori asked me when she had arrived home.
"Yeah. At least Rick is able to hang out with me." I said.
"Where did you go?"
"Amusement park. And guess what? I met Clover, Sandra and Mark there which resulted in them implying Rick as my boyfriend." I laughed and rolled my eyes.
"Better get ready for those three gossipers." Tori laughed and told me.
"Yeah. That idea came from none other than Rick."
"And he told you to play along?"
"Of course. I just did. That guy is starting to call me 'Tigress', too." I crossed arms.
"Well... I can't help, but to agree with him." I glared at her while she was chuckling.
"What?! I'm sure you will be straightly certified as an agent of FBI."
"Whatever!"
"Hey, I'm stating the truth. You can beat Rick who is our best fighter, not to mention, knock down all ten guys while we were training." Tori shrugged.
"Well... I will take that as a compliment then."
"You bet. Edward really brings the tiger out of a kitten."
"I'm going to sleep. We have work tomorrow and I don't want to be late." I told her and she nodded.
"WAKE UP, LIZ! WE'RE LATE!" I heard someone shouting at me with a pillow hitting my sleeping self.
"Ugh... What..." I groaned half asleep with my eyes closed.
"Liz, wake up. We're late. It's 8:30 now. " She sighed and I went back to sleep, but that soon changed when I arose quickly and straightly with my eyes fully opened.
"What?!" I took a glance at the clock and to my horror, we are late big time.
"You have 10 minutes to get ready." Tori said and I hurriedly went to the bathroom and changed.
I grabbed an apple on the table and got in the car whereas Tori started the engine and drove madly over the limits. Man.... This girl can compete in the Fast and Furious.
"Sam won't arrived here until tomorrow, right?" Tori asked me.
"Yeah. I don't think he will ever find out about us being late to work if he's not in the building." I told her. "But it is better to hurry."
I quickly went to my office, making sure I made less noise as possible. However, I was greeted with a standing figure in front of my desk, crossing his arms and glaring at me with a stern and serious face and a scowl.
"YOU'RE LATE!" He snapped at me whereas my inside was erupting horribly, legs went all trembling and my eyes were staring into his dark and flaming ones.
Holy Spirit!! Why is he here?!
