Liz Collins
"See you on your wedding day, Soph." I hugged her and both Tori and I went back to our place.
My mind was still exclusively on the serious discussion we had had. There are many questions going on in my head and I really want to solve each of the secrets my parents hide so badly.
"Liz, can I ask you something?" Tori asked me with seriousness lacing in her voice.
"Yes?" I looked at her.
"Ever since you and him became closer and you started to fall for him, has he ever asked any questions about your family or the place?"
"To be honest, yes, he did. He has asked me several questions about this and that, but all I could answer him was an 'I don't know'." It finally came to me that the guy I fell for was nothing, but a betrayer, liar and a traitor.
"That's the reason why your parents didn't inform you. They might use you to get what they want and I think the building is one of their targets."
"Do you think they will recognize me?"
"I don't know, but I hope they won't. I know that your parents are very smart and organized. I'm sure whatever they did, there must be a reason behind it. A good reason to keep you away from any danger."
"I still don't get why it has to be me instead of Ethan."
"We might have a few answers, but one thing I am aware of is your marriage." Her statement made me stiffened and froze like a stone.
"My marriage?"
"I know that it wasn't right to eavesdrop, but curiosity got the best of me."
"What do you mean?"
"One day, when it was night time, approximately at 11:30, I came back from the city and went to the building. When I was walking, I heard someone was talking on a phone. It was him. I perfectly knew that I needed to get out as fast as I could or else he would have spotted me. However, I couldn't help, but to listen to his conversation."
"What was it?"
"I'm sure he was talking to his father. He was saying that if his father got what he wanted then he would have you and marry you. After that, I heard him saying 'That's perfect. All we need is her and everything will be going as planned.' However, that was the only thing I heard because I needed to escape since he sensed that someone was there."
"Her as in...?"
"You." Tori turned to me. "I bet they needed to take your family out of their way in order to easily go after you."
"What's their ambition?"
"That's the main point we need to figure out before they find you."
"Didn't my parents tell you everything?"
"Not everything, but some of the things. On that day, I arrived at your father's last breath and he tried to mutter something to me. However, all he could say was 'Find the P-'. Everything I saw on that day was a catastrophe."
"What do you think he was trying to say?" I couldn't help, but let a few drops of silent and bitter tears down on my cheeks. That day, everything I saw was my family and other people's blood, the sound of gunshots and lifeless bodies laying on the ground. My dad hid me somewhere which I didn't even know. They couldn't find me, but I could see them cruelly killed every person in front of my hidden face.
"I don't know. We were pretty much in a hurry and I needed to get you out of there before they discovered that you were gone."
"I still can't believe everything." I sighed.
"Just be more careful. Your eyes are almost identical as your mother's and we might have to cover them up when you're not with us." She said with a deep breath. "It's not that I don't trust Sam, but we can't involve any of them into this. They have got too many things to solve and deal with."
The day of Mr.Clark's event has arrived and I don't feel right attending. I'm dressed in a white off shoulder dress which reached my knees. It is plain white with simple little designs at the bottom. I wore the least make up possible and let my wavy hair down.
"Ready?" Tori asks me even though she knows that I'm not.
"Y-Yeah. Let's go." I utter with anxiety.
We have arrived at the particular building where the event is held. Everything seems so luxurious and exclusive. This is an event attended by the elites and the people from the high class chains. I felt so wrong in here.
The guards let us in after some inspections. I was walking in my high heels which Tori forced me to wear. I really hate heels.
"Let's find the guys." Tori said and along the way, I saw many extravagant people in their fancy dresses or suits. Some people greeted Tori and some were staring at us.
I'm sure I'm like the odd one out of them all.
"Jack!" Tori spotted Jack at a table with Asher. Jack turned and looked in our direction while his jaw dropped to the floor. I'm a hundred percent sure it's because of Tori's sight. I mean who else? She looks really beautiful and amazing tonight, if I were a boy, I would be like Jack, too.
"Hey!" He immediately circled his arms around her waist as he smiled at her.
"You look very very beautiful tonight!" He was grinning from ear to ear as he looked at her with great affection and admiration.
"Not here, Jack!" Tori was blushing bright red as she was nudging Jack.
"Eww... Don't go all sweet and touchy in front of your friends." Asher jokingly made a disgusted face when Jack was glaring at him.
"Shut up!" Jack snapped as I was chuckling while winking at Tori's red face.
"By the way, where is Sam?" I asked the both of them.
"He went and had a conversation with some businessmen. That guy is a workaholic." Jack slightly shook his head.
"I don't have to deal with Regina, right?" I was hoping they would say that they were going to help me.
"You do!"
"Definitely have to!"
"One hundred percent will." These three spoke quickly almost at the same time. I sigh and just hope that Regina won't be in sight soon.
"I hate our boss." I grumbled as they all were looking at me with sympathetic looks.
"Uh-huh..." I heard a familiar voice behind me. He was wearing the tux that we bought several days ago when his hand was holding a glass of red wine and another shoving in his pocket.
"Whatever! Just try to get away from her by yourself, too because I'm not staying with you the whole time." I told him with seriousness.
"Come on... It's not that bad. I'm sure you'd like to be with me." He smirked and took a sip of his wine while I just had the urge to shove the glass to his smug face.
"Ugh... How can you keep up with this guy for years?" I turned to my other three friends in disbelief.
"Nah... He isn't like that to us, so we don't have any problems." They all smirked at me when the guy next to me was winking.
"What have I done to meet this side of him?" I rolled my eyes.
"A lot, Lizzie. I can list every sassy thing you have done or said to me. Why don't we start with the 'Jerk' part?" He smirked and smiled.
"Shut up... Sammy."
"Sammy?!" Tori, Jack and Asher looked at him amusingly as he glared at us.
"Bella is good at naming you two with an -ē sound." Tori chuckled. "Lizzie and Sammy..."
"Hello, Sam~" A high shrieking, too girly voice spoke. Her arms are now wrapped around Sam's as she was clinging onto him while Sam was already rolling his eyes, showing his irritation.
"Hi... Regina." He spoke in monotone and looked at me. I guess it is my cue to help him get away from her.
