"A family?" Sam raised his eyebrows in curiousness.

"That's all I know. It was a long time ago, but the death of the family was announced as an act of suicide."

"Do you know which family?" Jack turned to Asher as my lips were quivering at the news. If I stay here and listen to them more, I'm not sure I will be able to control my silent tears.

"We still have no clue about this." Asher said and I was keeping my head down all the time, looking somewhere else while calming my self down in order not to show anything. "But... One thing I have heard of... is that the family isn't ordinary."

Tori looked at me and I was biting my lips and scrunching my eyebrows in confusion when I looked up.

"What do you mean, Ash?" For the first time in this conversation, I have spoken up. I'm trying my hardest not to shakily ask that question.

Everyone turned to me and I was staring solely at Asher, hoping he knows the answer.

"Ordinary as in it's not a simple family. They are special and important for some reasons."

"Do you know why they're not ordinary?" I went straight to the point.

"Unfortunately, not yet." Asher said and I nodded in subtle disappointment.

"Is there anything else?" Sam asked Asher after he had glanced at me, maybe was curious why I had asked about the family.

"No. That's it for today." Asher said and I needed time to think.

"OK. I will let you two know that your training will be starting in a few days." Sam looked at me and Tori whereby we nodded.

We all leave the building and I couldn't help myself think of everything.

Who exactly are my parents?
Why do we have to live in the middle of nowhere in Colorado?
What does Ledwell want from my family?
How could they announce that it was an act of suicide?
When will I be able to find all of the answers to my questions?

"Where are we going, Tor?" I looked at her when I had realized we were driving in a different street.

"To meet Alex and Sophia." She replied. "We need to discuss about this."

We parked the car shortly after we had arrived. Alex and Sophia came and greeted me. We went to their study room and told them what we have found out.

"Do you know why they said that my parents and Ethan committed suicide?" I asked Alex.

"To be honest, yes. They were using guns which were loaded with tranquilizer and a ratio of poison to shoot us and you already know that their bodies were found after a few days outside of the forest. Ledwell must have planned all of this beforehand."

"One thing I'm curious the most is why is my family not ordinary? I mean I'm just a girl who lives in a small family. It might be strange that the academy is located in the west side of the forest and it is hidden, but that doesn't make anything special, does it?"

"Your parents built that academy to give lessons to people like us. Tori was adopted, I was having family issues back then and when I was just wandering around in that forest, I came upon the academy. As for Sophia, she was suffering from bullies in her school and one day, when I met her outside, I suggested that she should join us." Alex was telling how they got into the academy.

"People there have their own stories and reasons. Your parents have taught us so much. Only particular people were able to discover this place. The academy was like a second home to us. We are true and loyal to each other, just like how your parents taught us. We had each other's back and we're like family." Sophia smiled at the happy memory of everyone at the academy.
