Liz Collins
"You can take a cab and go home, Liz." Rick told me, but I refused to do as he said.
"It's OK. Let's just call a mechanic and fix this." I turned to him who was standing impatiently with a sigh.
"It will take hours, Liz." He insisted that I should better go. "It's not safe here."
"Rick." I warned him and that made him gave in.
"Alright." He sighed. "But I still want you to go home, Tori will kill me if she knows this."
"Maybe we should call Edward. He might be free this evening." I dialed Ed's number and luckily, he could come and help us.
The mechanic arrived 5 minutes before Edward.
"Can you take her home, Ed?" It's been almost an hour and the car hasn't been fixed yet.
"Sure." Ed replied, looking at me if I agreed. "I will come back after I drop her off at Tor's house."
They are both looking at me with a sign that says 'You should' and I eventually nodded.
"Let's go." We got into his car and he drove me home.
"Sh*!" Edward cursed out loud while we were driving on the way.
"What's wr-" I heard a loud bang at the back of the car.
"Liz, we've got company." He looked in the mirror and I glanced back to see a black car following us with a guy in the passenger seat, holding a gun.
A loud bang was heard and Edward was trying to escape their shots.
"Liz, grab a gun in the compartment." He told me and I quickly obeyed. "Can you shoot?"
"I will try." This is the third time I hold a gun. I barely practice with guns since they are dangerous and it sometimes brings back a trauma.
"I will start driving very fast and you will try to shoot them, so they can't catch up with us, okay?" Rick said and started driving in fast speed.
I nodded and unfastened my seat belt, so that I could shoot them better. I rolled down the window and began shooting.
"Be careful, Liz!" Edward advised me as he was concentrating on the roads.
I was thinking of a way to stop them because shooting at their car is useless.
"Ed, slow down." I told him and he looked at me in disbelief.
"What?!" He turned to me, still driving fastly.
"Slow down, please." He was hesitant, but he obeyed.
I rolled down the window until it's fully opened, wide enough for half of my body. I carefully leaned out through the window while holding the gun.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, Liz?!" Edward shouted at me, but I kept concentrating on my plan.
Before I peered out, I had made sure the door is safely locked. Half of my body is now through the window with my legs on the chair. I tightly grabbed the car roof with one hand and another holding the gun.
The cold wind hit my face violently and my hair blowing over my face. I looked at the target and started shooting at the same place for several times.
Ed was trying his best not to get us shot, mainly me, of course. He must've thought that I was out of my stoned mind. I was aiming for the car's tire and after a few times of nearly being shot in the head, a pleasing loud explosion was heard.
I went back in and wore my seat belt.
"Now drive to the fullest." I told him and we got away from them.
"WHAT WAS THAT SOUND?" Edward turned to me with curiousness and a lot of worries.
"The blowup of the tire." I said. I was thinking that if the tire exploded, it will stifle the car from going any further. But seriously, I had to shoot about five bullets at the exact same spot on the tire in order to make it explode, despite having some missing shoots along the way.
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" He shook his head, his voice was still hinting disbelief. "YOU COULD HAVE BEEN SHOT!"
"Well, I eventually survived, you should teach me how to shoot better." I gave him an assuring smile while uttering a R.I.P to the tire and the car, probably not the guys in it.
"You're unbelievable." He shook his head disapprovingly. The statement I used to or still use to describe one specific guy is now being stated to me. What goes around, comes around.
We arrived a few minutes later. I thanked him and he made sure to lecture me about my stubbornness before I got off. Trust me, I was half asleep when he was speaking.
I went to my room and changed. Sally made me dinner and when I almost finished eating, Tori came in.
"Hey, how was your date?" I asked her when she was pouring some water into a glass.
"Marvelous. How was your day?"
"I have to say it was abnormal." I said honestly, thinking about today.
"Huh?"
"Normal. I said it was normal, didn't I? Yes, normal." I quickly covered up what I had said. I don't want to tell Tori, but I have to or else she will be upset at me again.
"Tor, come to my room after you finish changing." I told her and she looked at me strangely.
I was physically laying on my bed in comfortableness, but mentally, I was not comfortable at all. Everything is starting to become difficult and complicated.
"Liz?" Tori waved her hand in front of my spaced out face.
"Oh. You're here." Guess I was in LaLa Land for a few minutes.
"Edward called and told me what happened." I supposed I didn't have to tell her anymore.
"Yeah. That's what I wanted to tell you."
"Your day didn't seem to be normal, huh?" Tori spoke and I bitterly chuckled.
"Hmm... It was a combination of weird and dangerous things."
"I will tell Alex about your encounters with them." She told me. "Anyway, I heard from Edward that you and Rick didn't have a good time. Also did you say WEIRD?!"
"Yup. I wondered who made this hang out a hell for us. We couldn't enter any shop, buy anything, eat at any restaurant or go in a public park."
"What?"
"It is unbelievable that someone can do this. It seems like it's not a coincidence at all."
"Rick's car even got a flat tire." I told her. "Speaking of it, I better call him to check if everything is fine now."
I took my phone and called Rick. Tori seemed like she wanted to hear, so I put it on speaker.
"Hey!"
"You're home, tigress?" Rick chuckled and I grunted.
"Yes. So, how's your car doing?"
"Well, after several hours of continuously checking and fixing, the mechanic says that the damages are deliberately made."
"What?!"
"He said that someone did it. The flat tire and the smoke coming out of the engine." I know he's very angry right now.
"Who could possibly do that?" I wondered out loud.
"Yeah. I wonder who's likely to get everything sold out or get us kicked out of almost every store." He sarcastically said and I saw Tori was trying to stifle a chuckle.
"I have no idea."
"I'm sure that person's ambition is to sabotage our hang out." Rick said and I couldn't help, but agree with his prediction.
