Chapter 56

"Careful." His hands were supporting my body from falling to the ground.

"T-Thanks!" He gradually released me and I cleared my throat.

"You're not asleep yet?"

"No. And you? What are you doing this late?" Wow, I admire him for acting like nothing happened yesterday.

"I... I was just getting a book to read."

"I see. The cliche one which Tina is obsessed with." He rolled his eyes.

"Hey! It's a very good book!" I uttered in shock beacuse he literally just said that.
"OK. But, I recommend you to see the movie. There's a part that I like watching." He smirked and I squinted.

"What?!" I haven't seen the movie yet, so I don't know which part he was referring to, but I don't think I'm going to like that part well since there's a presence of his smirk.

"You know... The part where the two of them were-"

"Alright. Good night... Perverted boss!" I rushed to the room I am staying before my brain is filled with you-know-what. What's up with that man? I wonder how that brain of his can make such a big influence on others.

"Hey, wake up." Someone muttered to my sleeping body.

"Hmm... Go away." I mumbled with my eyes closed. I thought reading a book will help me sleep, but contrary to that, I stayed up the whole night, reading it while losing track of time. That's me. Whenever there's a good book to read before bed, then it won't help me go to sleep, not at all.

"Wake up!" His husky voice was a bit clearer and louder this time. However, I can't seem to open my eyes and get up.

"Go away!" I unknowingly raised my arm up and shoved that person while I stayed under the cover.

"This girl..." He muttered, but I just continued my peaceful sleep, well, not peaceful anymore.

"Wake up!!" He groaned and pulled the pillow under my head, making my head drop to the mattress pretty harshly.

Can he get out? Someone is having her beauty sleep here!

"Seriously?!" He groaned, knowing that I'm still sleeping. He pulled the cover away from my body which was very annoying and very disturbing.

"GET UP, WILL YOU?!" He sighed frustratingly.

"Shut up, you annoying loud grumpy grandpa." I mumbled in my sleep.

Silence... This is what I'm getting. Perfecto! Should have done that-

Someone suddenly grabbed my bare legs and dragged me out of the bed which made me act on instincts.

"IF YOU DON'T WAKE-"

"Ugh! Be quiet and shut up!" I was trying to get my legs out of his grip and unintentionally kicked him which I presumed was on his face. The sole of my foot received a ticklish sensation due to the stubble on his face.

Probably my biggest mistake ever!

"That's it!" He picked me up and put me on his toned shoulder. My sleeping state is now completely wide awake when I realized the situation. My eyes widened, because of his action or more importantly, due to the fact that I am in pajamas which is an oversized T-shirt and shorts.

"HEY! PUT ME DOWN, YOU PERVERT!" I shouted while constantly hitting and kicking him even though it didn't even bother him a single bit.

"That's for kicking me in the face! And not getting-"

"YOU YOU! I WILL KILL YOU FOR SURE, SAMUEL PARKINSON!" The most embarrassing and uncomfortable part is that my bare legs are now trapped in his toned arms. Is there any aesthesis? Yup, to the point I feel like I'm a sack of potato that's being carried.

"Try to get down first, sun-"

The door opened and revealed Tina and Sam's parents in complete shock and surprise.

"Mr. Mrs. Parkinson! Tina!" I widened my eyes and what I said caught the attention of the arrogant guy.

They are all speechless with unbelievable and indescribable look on their faces. Who wouldn't?! They literally came in and found us in that kind of position. Being carried on the shoulder of their son while screaming like a maniac and having an expression which was very wrong and odd.

"Oh! Mom, Dad..." He muttered in surprise and put me down to the ground. My bare legs came in contact with the chilly atmosphere and I'm trying my best to cover my legs.

"What were you doing?" Tina asked us with a raise in her eyebrow and a subtle smirk.

I kept my mouth shut while looking at my feet in complete embarrassment.

"I told you to wake her up, but it took so long then we heard someone shouted from upstairs." Lauren explained while staring at the both of us. "And we came in and witnessed this."

"I was waking her up." Sam awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck and pretended that nothing happened.

"Get ready, dear. Breakfast is waiting." Lauren turned to me with a small smile then left with her husband and daughter.

"Nice legs!" He smirked and winked while staring at me, mainly my body.

"GET THE HECK OUT OF HERE!" I grabbed a pillow and hit him hard while shoving him out of the door.

Gosh... That was embarrassing!

I assumed my face is as red as a tomato right now. I touched my cheeks and they were very hot. I went to get dressed in a more decent outfit then my usual ones. Typically, it's a hoodie and shorts. However, this time, I'm wearing a blouse and tights.

I went down to the ginormous modern kitchen and helped them prepare breakfast if they're not finished yet.

"Eat well." Lauren put an omelette on my plate and smiled. They are very welcoming and nice. It reminds me of my family.

We were eating like there's no worries which is an ideal breakfast that consists of small talks that are aside from business or problems. That's what Lauren wants to have whenever they're having a meal together. No business talk and no texting or using phones while eating. By doing this, she believes that the family will be together talking to each other and not being occupied by their own phones.

After we have had breakfast, I helped them with the dishes.

"Lillian, we should discuss about the plan now. Can you call the others?" Mr. Lucas walked to me and said. I nodded and went to inform Tori and the others.
