Day of court

I got dressed in a semi formal outfit not sure what to expect. Lasercorn met up with us at the house amd Wes drove us to the court. We pulled up and I felt my anxiety worsen. I was gonna see him again. Wes put his hand on my shoulder. "You're ok." He smiled at me. I nodded. "Just a little nervous." I said. "Me and Lasercorn are both here. We've got you." He smiled. We got out and walked in. We took our seats and got started. (I don't know how court works so bare with me)

I took the stand amd they started asking me questions. "You being the victim what happened or has happened in past events with my client?" He asked. "This most recent time he lifted me off the ground my my throat and punched me then choked me half to death. I'm sure if he would've held any longer I would've died. In other times he's uh...he's hit me, cut me on my body in different areas, he knows I'm very sensitive to suicide and he said one time if I left the house to go see my mom he was going to kill himself,  there was one time—" I shuddered thinking of it.

"One time he r-raped me." I stuttered out feeling my anxiety build up further. "Could you elaborate if possible." He asked. I nodded. "I was in our room and he had come home mad about something and he started touching me inappropriately and I asked him to stop. I told him 'not now' and other things indicating I wasn't ok with it and he—" I sniffledd at the end.

"He drug me out of the room by my hair and pushed me onto the couch. He forced off my clothes and raped me despite my screams and cries and trying to fight him off." I said wiping a few tears away. "Why didn't you move out?" He asked. "I was scared he'd follow me. I was scared he'd hurt anyone I went to. I for about two months left the house maybe four times amd that was to shop. And even at that he was with me." I said.

The trial ended and I saw Seth look at me with a sick looking smile. I felt my body start to go numb. I walked away and sat outside. I calmed down my breathing before I started having a full blown panic attack. I felt a hand on my shoulder and it was Lasercorn. "Hey." I said my voice cracking slightly. "Hey. You're ok right?" He asked. "Yeah I'll be fine. Seth was eyeing me when he was going away and it made my nerves go up." I said.

"Its ok. I'm sure he'll be ruled guilty. There's nothing to worry about." He told me hugging me close. Wes joined us. "I wish I would've known." He said sighing. "Wes its not your fault. I didn't say anything til now." I said. He hugged me. We left and Lasercorn stayed the night. They would have the ruling by the next day.

Next day

We drive to the court and we took our seats. I didn't listem to most of what they were saying until they were talking about the ruling. "What does the jury rule?" The judge asked. "We rule Seth Leavitt...." I looked down praying to every god that he would be guilty. "Guilty." I breathed out. I looked up smiling and then to my brother. My brother also smiled and hugged me. I hugged back quickly. I turned to Lasercorn who was smiling widely at me. I hugged him too.

"I'm so happy." I whispered in his ear. "I am too." He said kissing my cheek right after. After we left court we went out for a celebratory dinner inviting the rest of the crew to come with. None of them knew what it was for so we were going to tell them.

We all met up and we went inside. "So whats the occasion?" Courtney asked. "We went to court today and....." I looked at my brother who was smiling. "Seth was ruled guilty." I said. There was a mix of "yay's" and "thats awesome's". We ate and messed around and then we went home and I went to bed.

How'd you feel about this? I feel like it was an ok chapter but could've been alot better. Like I said I don't know a whole lot about court but I did watch a marsthon of Law and Order if that gives me anything. Anyways hope you liked!

P.s I've been writing alot in advisory because I sit in the back and I have 30 minutes of free time unless I have homework.
