Chapter 30: The Good Girl's Promise
• LIFE LIKES TO TRAMPLE PEOPLE WITH BULLDOZERS •

KIMBERLY

My anger radiated off of me in waves as I felt fresh tears lather my face. My hands were clenched into fight fists. Fists that were so hard, I could feel the crescent indents of my fingernails digging into the upper part of my hands. Words echo off of my skull as if I were in a tunnel, but the only thing I could hear was the blood rushing through my ears and the erratic heartbeat that banged thunderously against my chest.

My brother was a criminal.

Betrayal aches freshly in my chest as I stepped out of the car and into the cold February weather. The night sky was dark and luminous over my head, while the stars seemed to blur with the angry tears that I desperately wiped away with my hand.

My feet hit the pavement in hard even beats that seemed to reflect my anger. My breath was ragged as I jumped into the curb and towards my brother's hooded, drunk figure that was about to enter his truck.

I heard footsteps from behind me and I knew who they belonged to but my thoughts were directly on the two-faced liar in front of me. I was nearly ten feet away when Ryder's hand grabbed my arm, stopping my forward aggression.

"F**king let go, Ryder!" I yell in anger. My bottled up emotions have broke and spilled towards the person who was currently stopping me from unleashing hell.

"Kimberly, don't do tho. You are angry and-"

"Of course I'm damn angry! I'm warning you one more time. Let. Me. Go," I grounded through my teeth.

I tried ripping my hand from his grasp. I didn't care for my feelings at the moment, I didn't care about anything but stopping my brother from going off with that stolen money.

Ryder was about to respond but I ripped my arm violently from his grip. Walking quicker now, I narrowed in on Andrew who was starting the car.

"Kimberly! This is exactly what this person wants! They want you to fight and to break the trust between you-"

"Shut up Ryder! My brother already broke my trust, therefore I don't f**king care what this person is trying to do at the moment!"

Ryder tries to pull me out of this fight but I was already by the truck door. Andrew was turned towards the passenger side, his attention away from the window in at. I bring my good fist up and bang it loudly on the window.

My fist pulses with pain from each hit on the window but I make sure not to hit it with my casted wrist. My flushed cheeks burn brightly as I continued to hit the truck trying to get my brother's attention.
