I hate sushi.

I don't just hate it, I despise it.

If sushi was the last godforsaken food on this Earth, I would rather die from eating grass like a cow. I would do anything to stay away from sushi.

I mean, I understand that some people like to eat it. Some people eat it everyday. I just can't get past the fact that raw fish (that could come to life) is being put into my stomach.

When I was younger, my family loved sushi. I was the oddball of the family and ate fried chicken while they ordered out sushi. My brother used to always make fun of me with it by packing sushi in my school lunches without me knowing. Then when I reached the lunch room, I opened my lunch bag and screamed bloody murder when there were raw fish, rice balls and a dead octopus staring back at me.

To say I was scared sh*tless for the longest time, was an understatement.

So when Nathan and I are standing outside of a sushi restaurant, you can as sure as hell I did not pick this place to eat. He really didn't even bother to ask if I liked sushi.

The smell of raw fish was flowing from the doors and I couldn't help but gag. Out of all of the places in town, we are going to a sushi bar? The one type of food I hate.

Nathan smiled down at me, not noticing that I was on the verge of turning green. I mean, you might as well whip out some purple shorts and call me the Incredible Hulk. I was suddenly self-conscious of the dress that I had worn for this date. Nathan said I looked beautiful, but now, I just felt overdressed.

As we entered the doors of the sushi place, I couldn't help but wonder where Ryder would take me if we were on a date. Would it be to a local pizza place or to a fancy restaurant? Would he hug me to his side, underneath his arm or just hold my hand like Nathan? Would he ask me what I wanted to eat or just assume I wanted sushi?

I sigh, breathing in through my mouth and trying to escape the date that is going down the drain faster than you could say, "F*ck life."

"You will love it here," Nathan said, grinning at me.

I forced a smile into my face and asked, "Does this place serve other things? That's not sushi?"
